Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.5C and it's presently 12.4C, mostly overcast with a stiff breeze. There was 17.3mm in the gauge @ 0900 with more showers predicted.

With all of this most welcome rain, nothing is planned. Besides that it's a holiday today; The King's Birthday... which isn't his actual BD but is the 'official' BD. Anyway, it's a day off for most and one of two days when "Honours" are gazetted. (Once again, I didn't receive an Order of Australia Medal 😐)

That's about it, take care all.

Coffee is brewing. 57° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 74° with chance of thunderstorms in late afternoon. Rain never came yesterday. Turned out to be a nice day. Got flail mower mounted on tractor. Checked field to make sure no critters were hide in the tall grass. All clear. Got to 3rd round of field and a Fawn jumps in to the tall grass. Shut tractor down and did another field. Fawn not found. Got the field cut with no more events. Garden Pond manatiance today. Then run flail mower over field one more time.
Seed Cakes do not last long when woodpecker visit.

Home from a trip to Ohio. Visited Dad Friday afternoon, except he was in bed asleep. We cleaned the house while he slept then went on to a hotel. Lost power in hotel for an hour or so after a storm friday night. Saturday went to my Great Nieces HS grad party up near columbus. Got to visit with a lot of family. I haven't seen some of my Great Nieces and Nephews in a couple years. My first time to this Nephews house. My oldest boy and his girlfriend came up from Nashville TN, so he got to visit with his cousins and catch up on things. Stayed near my next older brother Sat night, went out to eat with them and sat and talked a long time. Went to worship with him Sunday morning, then yesterday afternoon went to a sisters 50th Anniversary party. My other sister took Dad, even though it was over 2 hrs away, and he enjoyed it. I had not been over some of those roads in many many years, forgot how crooked and windy the roads in Ohio are. Most of the same family crowd as the day before, but this time we took some pictures of all of us together. My oldest brother was only one not there.
Rain storms on and off all day yesterday, but Trip home last night was very stormy, drove in a couple long, really hard downpours where we drove 35-40 mph on interstate with flashers on, and most others did also. Only 2 cars hydroplaned and stuck in medium along the way. I know we hydroplaned several times even going slow, but fortunately we were slow enough to not go off the road. The water was unreal in places, but we got thru them, then we had very heavy fog on the eastern side of the mountains. But made it home safe last night, son made it home to Nashville, and hopefully everyone else made it home safe.

68 and light fog, going to 87.

Ron still amazed that pileateds come to your feeders. Like you and Buppies, we had our first fawn spotting last week. A pair were doing zoomies in our field as their mom watched. One was especially energetic, bucking like a bronco and then head butting its sibling.

Our milkweed patch is at full bloom and very fragrant...watched 5 kinds of butterflies enjoying them, including monarchs. The yucca "grove" on the side of the hill is at full bloom...counted 76 flowering stalks...a new record.

My wife's dad had 6 brothers and sisters...the last of the siblings, my wife's aunt passed away last week, and we drove to near Burlington, NC for the funeral yesterday. It was good seeing my wife's relatives, and I had a good long discussion with the minister about church history and politics.

Our washing machine drain seems to be clogged, so will work on that today, and get Della some exercise since she stored up a lot of energy while we were gone for 10 hours yesterday.

BEF, sounds like you had a nice family visit like we did, and we got caught in a huge t-storm driving 30mph, too, but fortunately we were off the interstate and only 15 miles from home. I don't turn on my flashers, because when I'm behind someone with theirs on, it's harder to tell when they are hitting the breaks or just another flash, if their turn signals are red.
