2022 Bronco sport review

   / 2022 Bronco sport review #241
If I remember correctly, I had a problem with those auto hubs back in the day. Nosed the 93 Bronco down in a ditch and the hubs wouldn't engage. I had to get pulled out. It was worthless on my hill on our property in the snow, spinning one front and one rear wheel.

I was used to the 71 Bronco and the 93 couldn't hold a candle to the old one.
I remember, back in the day, when I bought my 2004 F350, reading on the Ford Truck Enthusiast Forum about people constantly having problems with Ford's vacuum-operated hubs. Glad I have manual hubs.

I assume they're all electric now.

My experience was a little different. I went out in my 73 and my buddy was in a CJ. He was tiptoeing across the muddy field, barely getting muddy. I was ripping up the field throwing mud everywhere including on top of the Bronco. I must have been funny to watch.
Trust me, I had more fun slinging mud. Was kicked out of a car wash because of the mud. I need to look for pictures...

White wasn't my first choice but this is only one in stock with all the options I want.
I love white vehicles now. last 5 have been white. It seems that they hide light dirt/road grime better than colored vehicles. Good looking Bronco...

Lots of experts posting here who have not owned or driven the modern bronco?
I don't understand the appeal for the new Bronco. I personally find it ugly but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
I also don't get putting a 4 cyl in anything larger than a compact car but that is becoming the norm. 3 cylinder engine is ludicrous.
After driving an EV for the last 2 years anything under an 8 cylinder seems gutless.

We test drove the badlands with its 4 cylinder and the model with lower HP 3 cylinder version. We got the badlands one.

My appeal to the new Bronco is how the Heritage edition is the closest retro look of any manufacturer doing retros. They hit it pretty dang close to my 73. Love the grill. I would have liked the dash to look more retro though. But the price, the one I saw was $75K, and it goes up. That is friggin nuts...

I agree that treatment looks good on the new Bronco. But IMHO it looks kind of silly on the Bronco Sport. It makes the Bronco Sport look like the Barbie Sport.

We test drove the Bronco Sport and it was tiny. It felt just like my moms Ford Escape. I think they are very similar vehicles with just different body lines. We also test drove the full size Bronco and she didn't like that one either. She's extremely picky with vehicles though....
