I can do this without harm :) now just need to know locations of where and what to cool.

Start with the items that are the easiest to access then work your way down the list.

Note: if your luck is like mine it will be the most inaccessible item there is on that tractor…

if there is a distinct module for fuel delivery I would start there. just opinion as I do not know anything about this models fuel controls.

I know not to start out with non-related components like the lighting or dash modules etc., and yes, the more accessible ones first. (y)

It's all about the locations of each and what each one does. I don't have a schematic layout of the 1740M tractor to define these things. The user manual is basic at least for this level of detail needed.

I see some black boxes, a few even under the dash, I'm assuming fuel delivery ecu's (if we even have this) to be under the hood. In looking there, it's a hot mess with no text on the boxes. It would take a lot of tracing any wires connected, limited space makes on this 95F day a no deal. But in reality, that's the weather I want to trial and error this module/electronics over heating theory.

How much trouble to remove the hood and let the engine heat escape, then just direct a good fan on the dash modules.

for that matter maybe run it w/o hood to see if its ok then? may prove heat getting trapped somewhere causing the issue.

If your 1740 is anything similar to my 1736 I believe all the control boxes are located behind the dash, I know for sure the ECU is. There may be electrical connections and sensors close to the engine that could be subject to temperature fluctuation.

As suggested, maybe running with your hood off is a reasonable test, if you have a few people to help remove it.

I will try the hood removal. It's too big a chore for my 98lb wife to help with, but I can seek a buddy easy enough.

Back about a Month ago, I hose blasted all the radiators and cooling fins, engine also. This is an annual / maintenance thing (remove cotton-wood, dust) but not done b/c of this issue directly ....my region has this annoying shedding from a type of Poplar tree, it's every Spring for about a week or two straight. :(
