Let me know what you think. I like that the guy I bought it from checks everything over and puts an NGK plug on it before he ships it.
Waiting on mine from Amazon..what NGK plug is needed🤔

BTW, Scottie is worth talking to if you are looking for any clone chainsaw. I think he carries a nice Stihl MS361 clone. He knows his stuff.

Hi fellas! Obviously I've been getting a few messages from some of you about these saws so I figured I'd join up and introduce myself. And I'd like to say thank you to those that have ordered saws from me.
I'm Scotty Lyon and I live in Logan, OH. We have about 260 acres and it's 90% wooded. My wife and I do a lot of cutting to maintain the woods and sell firewood. We heat with wood too. I grew up farming around 300 acres in the 70s & 80s. My first solo field was one of the river lots we had and was 12 acres. My FFA project. I had the great fortune of spending my own money on that field right before the Great Grain Embargo. In late June we got several inches of rain that put 80% of my field under 4' of water. Welcome to being a farmer!

We had 3 JD A, 2 JD B, and a JD R. Also had Farmall Super M with wide front, Super H, IH 300 Utility, WD45 tri, and my own personal tractor at the age of 15 was a 1956 WD45 with wide front and factory power steering. We overhauled and painted just about every one of them. My grandpa had a regular WD and a pair of David Browns factory ordered with under axle exhaust, an 880 and a 1200. When we weren't farming we were down in southern Ohio riding dirt bikes in the Wayne National Forest. I now live 7 miles from where we camped way back then. My wife and I have SxS now instead of dirt bikes but we still love getting out there and zigzagging between the trees.

We have our property set up as an official tree farm and constantly work to improve the health and species mix throughout. By 2019 we had gotten to the point where we were ready to do our first thinning project after having spent years getting rid of invasives and grape vines. We had way too much beech, poplar and red maple and some of them were pretty darn big. Especially the beech, hollow as they may be. We each got an Echo 2511T to go along with my MS261 and MS462. I needed something to split-rip the great big logs down so they'd fit through the firewood processor. I went back to the Stihl dealer to have a look at the 661. It was over $1700 with bar, chain and tax. I just couldn't do it, not for a single purpose saw. I had seen some of those blue saws so I decided to dig in and check them out. I ended up getting the Holzfforma G660 Pro. Had to go 2 1/2 hours away to get it. And I loved it! The thing works great and does exactly what I need it to do.

By the end of the 2nd tank full I told my wife that we needed to sell these things. They work great, don't cost much and nobody else in our area is selling them. She agreed and off we went. I placed my first order and by April of 2023 we had our first 6 saws in stock and ready to take on the world. What a rush! So now 2 1/2 years later we have hundreds of saws and thousands of parts in stock. We set up for a few shows throughout the year including the Paul Bunyan Show. Last year we sold 230 saws there alone. This year we have a spot 4 times the size we had last year. Our next big show will be with the Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club at the fair grounds in Lancaster Ohio August 15-17. It's a great time and so neat to see the kind of tractors I grew up on. What a blast!

So now I'll circle back around to these little 2511 saws. As has been mentioned, these things are really nice and incredibly inexpensive compared to the OEM Echo. I sell them in 3 flavors. Of course I have the JonCutter brand which aside from color is identical to the V-Modest brand that I've had for well over a year. I actually got to try out the very first one to land for a month while the first boatload made its way across the pond. Only thing was, I wasn't allowed to tell anyone about it until the big shipment arrived. I was pretty impressed. Now as I said, we had OEM saws so I had something to compare to. The only problem was that both of out OEM saws had been ported and souped up by some pretty good saw guys so the fight wasn't really fair. But even with that, the clone was worthy. They have more low end torque. They don't spin as fast free wheeling but where you really need the grunt, these things have it. The 3rd flavor I have, and actually even before the V-Modest, is from KNK Power. Same basic design but slight differences everywhere. I actually think they have a little more grunt than the V-Mod & Jonny but since I'm the only one in the country to have them, they will never really catch on.

I'll finish up here with pricing and why I'm just a little more than Amazon. When Farmertec first put these up on their web site they were $49 for the saw and I think $42 for slow boat shipping. No discounts for dealers. I ordered a few. At the same time they set sail with a boatload for the US warehouse and put them out for $99. Some sell right from the company web site but they also sell on Amazon and eBay under several different user names and profiles. All the same company though. It gives the elusion of competition. A day or two after the initial release on their site the shipping charge jumped $20. A week ago the saw itself was raised to I think it was $69. The cheapest you could get one for was something like $138 if you were willing to wait the 6 weeks for shipping. A few days ago they dropped them back down to $49. They dropped a few other models too. So now the cheapest you can get one for from their site is like $110. So far the ones still available in the US are $99 but once they are gone i would expect that price to be $140~$150. Maybe more. The fastest shipping from the factory right now costs $96 so delivered the total is $145. Usually the US stock is $15 to $20 more because of warehouse fees. I know the last time I checked, the NeoTec version of the 2511 was $169. The main reason for all these price swings is the unknown tariffs. Nobody knows what the final rate is going to be and the last thing these companies want to have is 10,000 saws on a ship sold for a price lower than it costs to get them here and unloaded. They are all hedging right now. So while they last at $99, jump on it! if you have the mechanical ability to check them out and do a little work on them, or the financial tolerance to absorb potential problems, do it. There's never going to be a better deal. I had a few that I could sell for the same $99 but those are gone and I'm now at $139. Now first off I'm a saw shop, not a big logistics company. I'll never be able to match or beat the prices of someone whose only contribution to the saw and your satisfaction with it is an address label. I don't even want to try. I want to be a full service saw shop servicing, repairing and stocking parts for saws that I have confidence in from the get go. So, what do you get for the extra $40 with a saw from me? Well right off the bat $11 of it is for shipping from me to you. I inspect, check tweak, test and tune every saw that sells out of my shop. The only time I sell a saw in a sealed box is at the big shows we do and then they are priced accordingly. If it's out of my shop, it's got my finger prints on it. I make sure all the screws and bolts and present and tight. I trim up the flashing on plastic parts if it's a little excessive. And that includes inside the air filter on these little guys. I make sure the chain brake works, the throttle & choke linkage operates properly, the gas & oil cap gaskets get checked and seated right, I make sure the kill switch wires and fuel tubes are routed correctly so they don't get pinched or worn from vibration. I make sure the fuel lines are fully seated on their barbs and that they don't leak. The oil line and pump grommet gets checked. Every saw that doesn't already have an NGK spark plug gets one ($7). All saws that don't come with a serial number gets one stamped in and documented. Bumper spikes get installed. I gas them up, start them and tune the carb. And last, I make sure the kill switch works. Not every saw has issues with all these things I do but I'll tell ya, everything I do is because I've seen a saw that needed it. There are Friday saws just like there are Friday cars & trucks. I make sure they all leave here like a Wednesday saw. And to top it all off I stand behind every saw I sell with full parts & labor for the first 30 days in addition to the factory warranty. You won't find that ANYWHERE else with any brand of saw. Not even $2,000 saws have that. But I can do it because I know when it leaves here it's ready to go to work. I'll earn your business if you want to give me a shot and I'll do anything I can to help you out even if you buy your saw somewhere else. That's the kind of full service I grew up with and it's the only acceptable way to do business in my neck of the woods. This post ended up being a lot longer than I planned so if you stuck to it and made it all the way to the end I thank you. i look forward to working with you and maybe even getting to meet some of you at a tractor show some day :)

I gotta get some of those mufflers in. Just because. I have a bunch of black ones with the extra side gills but SS is just so good looking.

They play with a 20", which I have on mine, and can handle a 24". Probably even a 28" if you weren't in a hurry. The sprocket is a 3/8. The oil pump output is the best I've seen on a smaller clone saw and keeping a 28" wet would not be a problem. The only somewhat related problem is that some of of the saws don't have the crank bearing under the pump pushed in quite far enough so the pump hits it turns stiff when it's tightened up. My saw ironically was bad enough that the drive gear tang slipped on the worm gear enough to get hot and melt the plastic gear. A couple taps on the bearing & a new gear and all was well.

How does that clone perform compared to an OEM Stihl 361? What does it cost?

No clue on the pro one. $298 shipped US stock

But my old G366 plain one like 361 cut just like my OEM 361 did.

I even goofed around and put a 32" on it like I did the oem one way back. The clone G366 oiled better then oem with about 28"buried.

PHO dry weight.
