How could Artificial Intelligence become dangerous?

I was discussing fastenal's pre-hire test that goes to all applicants with the fastenal store manager.

It's pretty much a personality test. 99% of the questions really won't effect you being hired.

The automatic fail question is "Have you ever considered stealing something"

The correct answer is "Yes, but i chose to do the right thing and not steal"

If you answer "No" you will not be hired by them.

If you answer "yes, I've stolen something" then you won't be hired either.
For fastenal training they just need to teach the employee to say, “no we don’t have that bolt but we can order it twice as expensive and twice as slow as you could somewhere else.” lol.

Ain't that the truth. I had to explain to a sales lady that no.... I'm not gonna pay shipping on a normally stocked item because you ran out.

I then ran across town to star bolt.

It's hard to say. I'm certainly not an expert, but it seems like an AI program would have a list of US state capitals in its database. It seems odd to me that it would somehow think it knows a state capital and be wrong about it. That sounds more human to me.
This would be an aggregator AI, so it would not look up anything and just trust the source.
A major issue, but it's not uncommon, even in humans.

Just having fun watching some cars burn on the streets.

Here is a follow-up response to pushbacks against the assumptions made in the video in the first post of this thread. It too is worth consideration.

I thought this link was entertaining and vaguely appropriate for this thread. I haven't been curious about AI, and I'm thinking that I'm not missing much.

They claim AI will eliminate 30% of white collar college educated jobs in a couple years.

The advice to "learn to code"... Was bad advice. That job won't exist in 12 months.

The job losses and subsequent social realignment will be interesting to watch from my retirement on my front porch

Kids are signing for loans, for college degrees, in fields that won't exist when they graduate. The colleges are all too happy to take their money.

I've already returned to farming. Maybe college grads will have to go back to an agrarian lifestyle too?

This brings into question the idea of UBI. Also, what use does a county have for millions of "eaters" who just get paid and don't actually contribute to society? Will large corporations like to be taxed to pay your UBI so you can be non productive? How many eaters will they allow?

My son is going for an Education Major with business minor.
Both wife and I are IT, and see that as a bad choice.
At the colleges we visited, the lines for IT majors were non-existent.
Lines for business, law and poly sci were full up.
Medical support (nurse etc.) seems like an AI proof occupation for a while.

Where does the money come from to support those large corporations? As industry gets more and more machine oriented (to save money on labor) it becomes harder for people to find jobs to support themselves.

Imagine if George Orwell had written a sequel;
2084. At birth, everybody is issued a robot. This machine supports them through life, in a symbionic relationship. The robot earns money to support it's person. The human learns to keep the machine going.
His survival and success are dependent on how well he can maintain his machine.
Over time some will accumulate their neighbor's machine, while the human drops off and lives at the edge of civilization, on the crumbs his wealthy neighbor casts off.
