good morning, 60 going to 84 sunny

Walked Cody and lingered outside in the nice cool morning. Lots of fawns around and smell of skunk was in the air close to the house.

Cutting back some overgrown bushes today

D is talking about coming out with friends to camp in the back area of the farm and then said when asking how many, oh may be 20 or more
Not sure about that

Good Morning
70°, clear sky and on its way to 85° today.

Yesterday I managed to make progress on some chores and still managed some time at the RC club.
Got the dock finished, but that largely my son’s effort.

Trimmed the hedgerow back with the help of youngest son, and got rid of all the brush.

Now I should be able to mow along there on the Lazer and not get my hat knocked off, or arms torn up by multiflora.

Today is our anniversary, so we will probably go out to lunch or some small celebration, but there is still a couple of dead trees I want to take down and cut up. I’ll know tomorrow how the day went.

64 outside this AM, will push to a comfortable 80 later.

Yesterday was outside attempting to get a gate in. Turned into an all day event with most of my tools and equipment needed. It was a two gatorade, five water bottle event. The gate was just long enough that it required a fence post to be moved, six inches. LOL. The post was dropped in via hydraulics, so I spent most of my time digging it out before I could get a good grip on it with the tractor. In addition the oak boards all had to be cut for the new fit.

Unfortunate we could not find the lock mechanics for the gate so that may be todays project. We thought we had a set for each gate, it will probably show up after the new purchase and install.

The wife rewarded my efforts with crabs, cod and sword for dinner.

Somewhere along the fence line I picked up some chiggers. Talk about being miserable.

Will see what todays entertainment brings. Hope all are well, be safe. Still in ketchup mode.

Morning all, 75 going to 89 and sunny.
Going to Sister in Laws for her birthday.

Got another 5 gallons sprayed on the stiltgrass, the rest will be whacked down. The last application seems to be working and not killing anything else.

Got the gardens watered and took do for a walk at pedlars village once I came back from veggie shopping.

I use no sugar ketchup, seems to work fine for me.

Engineer42, happy birthday to the Mrs.

<rant on> I will not buy SCotts products, they don't work well and proliferate lots of chemicals I would rather not have in my grassy areas. They have outmarketed and out distributed all the good companies that I used to buy seed from. I only use fertilizer on my garden. I try not to clog up the water supply and create the mess we see up north with algae filled lakes.
Even the stuff I use for the stiltgrass breaks down in a few weeks.
Last time I bought Scotts grass seed it was more than 50% coating and did not take very well. Bought some contractor seed and it cover the area in no time, for about half the cost. <rant off>

Happy anniversary Paul/PopGadget

Be well,

quick trip downtown to use a 5 dollar off coupon on some bird seed.
got the birds fed.
hose dragged all over the place watering everything.

on this day six years ago I was selling my Super A in Washington NC.
It lasted three days til it sold. .

that gigantic carrot cake I made was at least four layers and weighed about five pounds.
I added a ton of extra shredded carrots to the mix and it was yummy
I forget who I made it for, might have been the neighbors

decided rv did not need washing but lawn could use a mow this afternoon.

excellent rant Ken 👍

Good morning.
It's been a wild ride......
First off, good news on Dona's condition.... but not "official" yet. The results from her PET scan this past week shows "resolution of previously reported abnormalities" ---- very good news for sure. Unfortunately, there is still something shown in the area of her sacrum. They aren't saying it's cancer, but it is 'unknown origin'. It all won't be official until the meeting with her oncologist in a couple weeks.

Bad news is her back pain has gotten worse. Hopefully she will get an "all clear" from oncology and can get to see a back specialist. There is a referral already in place.

Dona is very happy that her hair has grown back in. I told her I was hoping that it would come back blonde.... I nearly got slapped for that one. A slap that I would gladly accept.... I am simply grateful that our prayers were answered and I will still have her for at least a little bit longer... (hopefully a lot longer).

Lots of other stuff going on too, will start to catch up over the next few days.

We had 95-100° every day this past week. Tough to deal with anything outside. Weeds sure like the temps..... they are growing crazy! Considering that I haven't tamed them in over 2 months.... well lets just say it looks like a jungle....
Dona is the priority, so the weeds will either die off by themselves or I might get around to wacking them......

And.... out of the blue.... Dona gave a suggestion for a big project.... then gave a "green light" to start it. A new shop / garage. A hybrid combination of steel building and wood pole barn.
I've been working on the foundation for the past couple of weeks. So far I've poured 18 yards of concrete so far, one yard at a time. I'm getting close to completion of the foundation.... only 6 more yards to go! (I am so done with concrete!)
(Whipping my arse for sure!)

I think Dona came up with this idea to get me out of her hair.... and to try and get me out of the bad mental state I allowed myself to get into....

I hope everyone has a great day!
