Heat Pump Mesh Cover, anyone with experience?

2 feet from the house is a lot. I'm on my second home with heat pumps, and both, as well as every other one I've seen is less than a foot from house. First home, I built a roof like shown above. It worked well. Given there isn't much you can do about the distance away from house, I'd leave maybe a foot clearance on the sides of the unit(s) and then put a wall to the house attached to the roof you are building. That will keep the majority of snow from blowing behind the unit, and still allow more than enough airflow.

It has 2 walls and a roof that extend to the house, I left 2' on the sides so that I can get inside and past the pump, room for working and plenty of air gap. Total size is 4x8 feet. All I can do now is wait and see what happens.
