We planted watermelon this year and they have huge black seeds in them. FYI, I can spit a seed about 18 ft, almost twice as far as my 13-year-old son. LOLWhen our kids were small, we'd just go out in the yard and slobber down some watermelon slices and let them spit the seeds all over the lawn. Many a stray watermelon plant would sprout.
You ever try pinching the seeds between your thumb and forefinger to shoot them? Makes a nice snap feeling and goes flying across the patio to hit your brother in-law.

Back in the early 90s I was between jobs and worked p/t at a supermarket in the produce dept. They taught us a trick to slicing a seeded watermelon so the seeds don't show. Didn't know that before I worked there, I'd always search for a cut one that didn't show any seeds thinking I got one without any.
