Arly, just looked at a map and I thought my brother's place in Cedarville was far away, but Houghton is even further
out that peninsula to the West. You are almost in Canada.
looks like a wonderful spot to have a boat
and a beautiful area in general. Town of 9000 should be just the right size.
Thanks daugen. Not all that close to Canada it being a 93 mile flight to Thunder bay. Even taking a boat to the isle is a 6 hour trip. Here is a pic a friend took of me on the Ranger .

Good Morning
63° and partly cloudy. It’s only going into the middle 70’s and the clouds will persist through the day.

Yesterday’s trip was totally uneventful other than the price of Jet fuel was almost $3 a gallon lower in Maine than in Philly. We always try to arrive with minimum fuel and leave with maximum. For comparison it was over $6 less than Boston. The variation seems insane to me, flat out usury in the cities with many fingers in the pie.
I got home just before Amazon finally delivered my access point, so I got that installed as soon as I changed my clothes.

It was nice of Drew to deliver tomatoes, I put them to use for dinner. Apparently Zoe was outside when he arrived, and gave him the royal greeting (which usually isn’t appreciated). She loves people and just ant help herself. My wife says she can’t control her licker….

Here was my dinner thanks to Drew.

Morning all, 65 going to 75 and sunny.
The rain did mess up the dusting of the YJ, but went out and did it again last night.
Even with that the numbers I see around the gazebo are minimal, so I guess the gazebo ones and the ones under the bush are the same.
The tree that I thought took a lightning hit is an ash and I think it just dropped bark, which is weird as the bark is on top of the Y?
Down to 2 peaches since the rest have disappeared, Since I did not see any on the ground of the 30 or 40 I started with, I assume they have been taken by animals.

Ron, sounds like you are on the home stretch with the ankle !

Zoe is looking great Popgadget.

be well,

The harvest this year...

Lou, sorry and prayers for your ability to get around. My buddy bought his mom a portable O2 machine. She has bad allergies and some asthma. She uses it whenever she gets winded. Sure appreciate your advice here, I can tell it comes from years of experience.

71°F and .16 inches rain

Got the new carburetor for Sophie’s Scag. Will get that installed today. That solenoid piece at bottom was sticking.

Gonna cleanup her Sear mower and put that on CL. Mowes well, but that is the one she brought the frame I mended.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

89F and sunny @ 13:00, which is 2F above what WU was calling for, for the day's high. DP 65F, HU 47%, "feels like" temp = 95F.

A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible today, with thunderstorms likely this evening.

Dark clouds to the north, cloud cover here can't arrive too soon.

Got meds doled out first thing yesterday.

Refilled hopper and both tube feeders, also scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Put out some food for the feral kitty that seems tobe hanging around.

Menards rebates put in the mail.

Ran down to the corner and picked up another 5 gallons for the Cub, refueled Cub when I got back.

Hauled down another couple of bucket loads of mulch for the arbs.

Some more mulch spreading done.

Cleaned out interior of new freezer, swapped positions of freezer and hutch, checked it for level (within 0.1 of a degree) and powered it up setting it to "Fast Freeze".

It was down to -20F within 2 hours, reset it to "4" (normal) which allowed it to come up to a couple degrees below 0F.

Got call in early evening, Woman's car would not start ... so rescue trip over to deal with that.

It had been acting a little flaky when I ran down to get gas for Cub: turn key on and the wipers cycle ... despite being the off position. Try it a second time and it turns over and starts.

Was able to get it started for Her using that procedure and we drove it over to Autozone and had them load test the battery. Bad battery (not at all surprising, given how often some light in it has been left on ... 🤬)

So She drove it back home stopping by Micky D's to grab some chow on Her way back.

Low fuel light was on in the van so I drove it over to one of the cheap fuel places and filled it up. $93 and 25+ gallons. Then came on home.

Ran over to NAPA this morning (it was a NAPA battery) in The Woman's car. Had them verify the battery was bad, unfortunately no warranty as the battery was 10+ years.

Got new battery and installed it, and left $214 lighter in the wallet. Car now starts right up.

Looks like it starting to cloud up some here so probably go mow the front which is now at the point that it needs it.

That will allow me to put the rest of the gas that's still in the can into the Cub.

Lawn not looking too bad considering no appreciable rain in the month of August. But we surely need it.

Then pick up a few items that need to be brought inside before it rains.

After that probably process squash for freezing ... that Lemon Squash Cake is weighing heavily on The Woman's mind ...

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

hope you get ten years out of this battery RS.

cleaning ladies left, house looks better, wasn't scolded too much...
worked out deal for them to come every three months.

replacement head for Makita string trimmer came in.
oem one only has one string, replacement has two. Newer model of same unit switched to
normal double string, but had to special order it since it has a smaller shaft (M8?) instead of M10 arbor.
but getting old one off will require a youtube video, how to stop shaft while trying
to undo the head.
that's tomorrow's project, ran out of energy

very nice day outside
