Good morning TBN folks. About 55 here now and today's predicted high is 60. Will mow lawn after it dries and we did see .5 of rain yesterday. Hoped to blaze a trail today we care for but the two people who said they'd help, did not get back with me, which is normal. We live pretty boring lives here.

Wow.....

Around here they shoot them on sight. Livestock issues.

Caught this one hunting for foxes a little while back.

I guess I should have said "some farmers". While searching for the article (that I still can't find, boy that's annoying) I found reference to another wanting to hunt them at night.

Yes, but the smart meters can be dumb. Just had a $300 credit to my account after they found out that the meter was reading for 5PSI instead of 2PSI. But it took 2 months and about 30 calls, an hour each call, to get it straight.
It paid you $10/hour x 30, to get your money back. How frustrating.

Took son to school, but first stopped by Starbucks on the way.

Just sprayed some round up on my tall weeds around my septic system.

Taking mom down south for her cardiologist appt.

Off today.

Does the clunk happen when changing steering direction? Or going over bumps?
So on smooth roads it is fine but on smaller roads with some imperfections in the pavement there is like almost like a hammering sound. No problem on major bumps. Parked and engine not running turning steering wheel slightly side to side a mechanical sound at each end of the turn Wheels turn instantly when steering wheel is turned. Also looks like the oil has leaked out of the rack and pinion gear

Just read recently that Delaware was now the 49th state to have a coyote population, with Hawaii being the lone holdout.

Farmers are against hunting them as they help with the deer population.
trading one evil for another, i'd rather have the deer.

So nice outside, I hated to come back in earlier.

I heard the Jack Johnson song, Banana Pancakes on the radio coming home from the mountains yesterday. So, I decided to make them this morning, along with blueberry and plain...been so long since making them, I forgot to "lightly grease" the cast iron griddle. What a mess, but later the pancakes came out great and we had a great time enjoying them and then rocked in the rocking chairs on the porch.

Della didn't get to go on the hike with me in the mountains yesterday...it was a tough one and more than 5 miles further than she has ever gone. Too long for her and longer than I should have gone...but beautiful, and a section of the AT I had skipped over as I try to complete all 550 miles in Virginia.

Left home at 5:30am and didn't get back until 8:30pm, because a long drive, too. Light traffic on I-81. Best part was seeing 2 bear cubs playing on some boulders about 30 yards away when I came up a steep climb. Glad I didn't see mama...they took off when they finally saw me.

Last night I discovered I never got a verizon cell phone bill this month. go online, all I could get from the $%^)$*^ app is "You owe us $251", with no explaination of why it is so high this month. it should be the same each month. Found out this morning they raised their rates again, they just raised them a few months back.

So today's mission is to get rid of verizon. Started by moving my wifes phone to another carrier (which still uses verizon network...) however, was a glitch in the esim procedure, so her phone now not working. right now waiting on a half hour "unlock" pause on the new carrier, so I can try the esim procedure again.

Need to get my son's off my account also, then I can do mine and be done with verizon wireless. They make it so friggin hard, that they make a christian want to cuss. When you use their app to get a "transfer PIN", they instantly flash a "please don't leave" message on the screen, which blocks the PIN number, and when you click to remove the message, the PIN is no longer visible. after several trys, I finally logged onto my account on my computer, and was able to see the PIN. And every time you try, you have to get a stupid verification number sent to type in twice....

When I'm done, I'll save $2300 a year with a flat rate plan, unlimited data. I did go to a mid tier plan to get faster download speed, instead of the base plan.

tough morning for mold, I worked on the North end of the house that was getting moldy.
Used an algaecide and then scrubbed, then sprayed on wet and forget and left that on.
also cleaned the a/c compressor which was covered in light green mold, and foamed the
fins. They really changed color back to black so looks like a lot of gunk came off after four years.

then went to Popgadget's and had him cut the other ends of my garden shed ramps on an angle, dropped off the last
of the tomatoes and then headed home on a lovely day. Also dropped off this icebox watermelon, little thing but note the brown
stem opposite the attachment point

Thanks for water suggestions I’ll be in touch

Coyotes here have bounty on them mostly hunted at night require expensive scopes not enough interest for me.

Arly used to hunt deer gave it up do not like the meat. Wish I was more helpful. Now I mainly target shoot. Will shoot deer if someone wants the meat

Just read recently that Delaware was now the 49th state to have a coyote population, with Hawaii being the lone holdout.

Farmers are against hunting them as they help with the deer population.

There's a rather large size mismatch between coyotes and deer. I'd be skeptical of that claim. The coyotes do prey on mice that helps keep deer ticks down, but that's as close as I know of. Do you have a reference on coyotes controlling the deer population in your area?

The coyotes around here prey on mice, and ground squirrel sized prey. They will occasionally dismember the remains of a mountain lion deer kill, but only after the mountain lion has cleared off 90% or so off the carcass. We have a den close by and get to know the local coyotes individually, so we get a chance to see them hunting frequently. I leave all of my ground squirrel trapping successes in particular locations that I know that the coyotes will come by and clean up. Not infrequently, we see them shadowing along behind us, waiting for any tidbits.

All the best,

Peter

The farmers here either give you free access to hunt them or seek hunters out to kill them. They prey on calves. I haven’t seen any this year but I feel they are about
