The liner for my 1 acre pond cost like $20K in 2014. Wouldn't want to re-do the project this day and age...
We are gonna have a waterfall at the very least. Fish too but not sure which kinda fish.Eric, Are you going to have fish, waterfall or any other features such as fountains, spitters etc.?
If you’re not going to have fish then you definitely don’t need to exchange all of the water every hour.
If you’re planning on fish especially Koi or Goldfish then you’re going to want the every hour exchange along with some sort of filter system. I’ve kept fish without any filter but you have to keep the amount of fish to a minimum.
wise move on pots. good to see aquatic vegetation, it also filters, etc the water. my 4 ponds are large & i keep Amur carp to keep things in control. keep up the good workbig bubba, Yes it’s a oriental lotus. We’ve had it for 15+ years. It’s in a good sized pot. I’d never plant one without a pot or in a large pond, to easy for them to grow out of control. We have a local lake that is just polluted with american lotus it covers acres water ruining boating and most fishing opportunities.
Sounds like a great project. I'm glad now that I connected to the creek ifor our ponds nstead of using a liner. We didn't realize it at the time, but local moose, elkm and bears would have just poked holes in any soft liner we could afford. But they are all fun to watch. We are gonna have a waterfall at the very least. Fish too but not sure which kinda fish.
