Easier way to move trailers with loader

I don't have any large trailers and the RFM is on the tractor most all the time except snow season. The ball on the RFM does the job. I do have a receiver on the bucket, but the FEL is only on when needed.

I use an SSQA plate with a receiver hitch welded to it. It has a notch cut out which makes it easy to see the trailer ball.

I got mine years ago from them. I like the new style, they changed it from what they did offer. I have to tilt mine up to see the ball. It works but sometimes makes it difficult to get the ball into the hitch.

After reading of people unable to see the trailer ball while moving trailers, I thought to post these pictures. FYI. I don't have trouble moving trailers and by tilting the bucket can usually see the ball. Moving is quick and easy.

I didn't make this thing but did heavily reinforce it after it bent under heavy trailers. I got it in Kentucky with a trade and these are not my welds. It just an extra long bucket clamp arrangement welded to a long style receiver tube. By using the long style hitch and ball, the extra length makes it easier to see except when the trailer is real low to the ground. Then I have to crook my neck or lean forward.

The extra-long makes it work and I can usually hook up in seconds. Surely others have made better so if you have a pic, post it.

. .

That looks like a sure-fire way to eventually bend and ruin your bucket. Wouldn't want anything clamped to the cutting edge like that.

I bolted a $20 receiver to the TOP of my bucket. Can use a drop hitch or even an extension if you need to get under something low. Let's you change from a ball hitch to a hitch with empty hole for wagons easily. It's always there and I don't have to find it and install it when needed. I use the rear hitch and the front bucket hitch to move wagons and implements around all the time!! Easy to see and get connected on both ends. Also handy as a center attachment point for chains, straps, and slings.

Edit -- Also great for pushing wagons and trailers into a barn or parking area instead of trying to back them in . . .

You can get them plates cheaper w/ a removable receiver. Not sure of the strength, but says 3/8" throughout ~$170:

I bought this QA receiver hitch. It fits the Bob Cat and the Kubota. Didn't cost much.

You can get a three point hitch receiver for $50 on Amazon... far more solid than a clamp on. A lot more visible and super easy to hook up and disconnect. Works equally well on my 1000# flat and 8000# travel trailer.
