So not sure if this is the right place but I have a 2021 6x10 Griffin Dump Trailer. I bought it very lightly used, basically new. Since June 2025, Ive used it practically every single day as I own a fence & firewood business. It's seen aggregate, firewood, rock, demo, and who knows what else. It's in awesome shape but recently it has started to sway. Im not easy on it. It's rated for 9600? or in that ball park (6 lug axles). I just bought a new 14k dump trailer and am I am wanting to "heavy duty" the 6x10 the best I can. I need suggestions on what to get for this. I want to completely upgrade the suspension so the trailer doesn't squat so hard when loaded heavy. Yes I know the axles can only handle so much. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do to this trailer to beef it up and make it last longer?
What I Have Done So Far:
1. 235/75/15 14 ply tires
2. wired in a 2 prong winch connector that connects to the tow vehicle which constantly charges when hooked up.
3. Installed a wireless winch controller into the system to get rid of the wired controller (works awesome)
4. thats it LOL
Also:
Lighting - I find myself working in the dark OFTEN and rear facing or 360 lighting would be SO HELPFUL with backing up and just working light. This trailer has the ramps mounted on the fenders so can't put light bars/pods there. Maybe under the top side rails? Trailer doesn't have tarp and dont feel as if I need one so thinking I may put a long sucker in the spot where the tarp would usually go. Also have been looking at oval light boxes online as I really need some amber strobe lights for traffic when working on the side of the road or pulled over etc. Id weld it right on the trailer. With all this being said, anybody have any tips? Any ideas? Any opinions? Id be happy to hear anything you got. Im not perfect and I am just a guy working to provide as I sure the rest of you are aswell. Maybe some of the stuff is dumb maybe it isn't that I mentioned in this article! Not looking for hate. Trying to get everyone's ideas and make this trailer the ultimate (tiny) dump trailer for commercial use! Thanks
