...Brushing back the road and the camp site is going to be quite the job all by itself......

We have lots of trails at our hunting property. We leave the the front access (trail) area pretty rustic, so it doesn't look like an attractive place to explore.

I wouldn,t hesitate to make them that offer. I would imagine tractor sales start slowing down in the fall towards winter. The worst they can say is no, or come back with another sale price offer. From what I see on many sites that have stuff for sale, items are way overpriced. I think it is definitely a buyers market, and the golden rule comes into effect. Those that have the gold, dictate the rules, and prices.

Another advantage of hiring a forestry mulcher is the time saved is time you can devote to other things that need to be done instead of spending a lot of time doing a lot of hard clearing yourself when there are probably a zillion other things that need to be done.

You are also not faced with having to transport and store a tractor plus tractors are good for maintaining, but not so good for doing hard clearing work.

Probably goes against the grain with you. It did with me, but I finally came to the realization that forestry mulching is much faster and gets better results than fighting a bunch of brush myself.
