Its just the one pump thats gear driven off the trans. I'm not getting flow to the remotes or the lift. I had a few bolts out of the top and I could see through and the fluid churns when the tractor is running. I havent been running it for long intervals. I'm not really sure how to check the hydraulic pump without pulling the top cover off to see if its sending fluid through the "gallery" some of the top cover bolts have been out for some time and water ended up in the fluid so I went ahead and drained it. Figured I'd start back with some fresh fluid when I pull the top cover. I'm going to take some pictures and upload them when I do that. Any tips/pointers?

I have not work on a 5000 ford lift. But if you put everything back correctly that pump should have pick that oil up and built pressure. Not priming has always been a fault on the suction side for me. And I’ll bet you put it back correctly. I have read that low pressure shop air can be introduced to the sump to push that oil in the pump to get it primed. Be careful not to add much pressure though. All that stuff on the suction side has got to be perfectly sealed, o rings and all. Good luck and have fun with it

Just in case someone else is reading this in 10 years trying to troubleshoot their machine. Here is a short video of someone explaining of the "gallery" or channel where your hydraulic pump flows. You can also follow his advice on the low tech bucket flow test. Will need the top lid off for this.

Pump works! Excuse the quality of rhe fluid I had some oil i thought was clean I had added after washing out the case with diesel. It had some junk in the bottom of the pail, it will be changed. Tried to upload video but it wouldn't attach.

I think this is the one you were talking about? Mine either fell off when I pulled the lift cover today, or it was never there. I guess that could be a big problem!

Since I cant upload the videos I'm just going to upload some stills of the top cover controls and see if anyone sees anything obvious that could be an issue. I'm going to put a new oring in here in the next couple of days. Went to tractor supply and got some new bolts for the top cover. The old ones were looking rough. Going to get some of the cheaper VP racing utility tractor oil to run through it for judt a few hours to flush out the hydraulics and then ill change it again with Travellers UTF. Will update after.

Attached is the parts diagram I was looking at. O-ring is item 5A located below the gasket bottom center of first page.
How ironic, that almost 4 years later I have arrived back at the same place, you tried to tell me. I was so sure that oring was there. 🤦‍♂️

Update on 10/8/25
I replaced the oring with one from my SAE Orion set. It seemed to fit pretty well. I really had tp wrestle with the top cover to get it back on. I dont have any concrete so I use deck boards on the ground between the rear tires to roll the hoisting around. Its an imperfect system. I also struggled with the hoisting aspect, getting the chain even lifting right? It always comes off easier than it goes back on lol. I tore my gasket, but still set it down and used a few punches as guides to set it on the o ring. This would be much easier with a second person. After I set it down I only put a few of the bolts in because I knew I would be taking it off again to put on the new gasket. I did not attach the top lift/ram arms to the bottom lift arms. That was a bit short sighted on my part. I fired it up and the top lift arms went straight up! They didnt come down but they had nothing to pull them down. I pulled the selector to make sure the rear remotes had flow. I hit the lever and heard the pump start working. Stupidly, I didnt think about the end of the remotes having fittings on them. So I didnt depress the pin inside and dead headed the pump. Then the o-ring tried to launch into outerspace. Oil shot out of the empty bolt hole beside where the oring goes. Im still taking this as win. I have another top cover gasket and o ring. My only concern is that the lift arms didnt go down. Once I turned the tractor off I started pushing them down and they went as far down as the lever was set. So if I pushed really hard on them they would go down and stop. I would move the lever down more and they would go down more. I could hear fluid emptying into the sump when I did this. Since the cover is comming off yet again, I just want to make sure thats normal and I dont need to go ahead and plan on adjusting any of my controls. Tbh, I'm not really sure how to adjust them. Attached picture of where the fluid shot out, more for your amusement than anything.
