Why do you need 12 acres to be so flat? Hay?
Actually, it's not flat. It's graded with a slight slope so that it drains well. This was a rice field back in the 70's. Then soybeans and hay since then. Plowing it in the same direction for many years caused some low areas, especially where the equipment would turn. It was holding water in those areas. Now it should drain quickly. Why do you need 12 acres to be so flat? Hay?
That field is smooth enough now to be sprigged with hay grass in the spring.Laser grading on a different scale. This is on a 12 acre piece that I own. It would have taken me at least a week to grade this field.
My son in law did it in about 4 hours with his dads equipment

Looks like a good field, you might even say a Field of Dreams.![]()
I'm not sure what we are going to do with this piece of land. All my other land is now in sugar cane. I just wanted this to drain properly. My daughter and son in law might do some organic farming on this piece. Is it going to be a hay field again?
Not too muddy . . .Repairing a broken T in a 3" irrigation line is not one of my favorite jobs, but it's all part of the game.
