The idea of cremation was a hard sell to my wife (who is still very much alive) but with the help from our pastor, finally agreed as we will be buried some 600 miles away in another state.

If it was just me, the VA would take care of me.

My wife used to ask me, well, what do I do with your ashes? I told her to put them in an empty whiskey bottle, drive down a road until she saw a concrete bridge abutment and have at it. Smack! She's not one for dark humor.

It amazes me how the haves like to look down on the have nots. Their favorite expression is, you could have what I have if you worked hard like me.

That car looks to me like homeless. (And not quite right in the head).

There's one similar we see from time to time, parked in the rest area 25 miles east of San Francisco. With her cat and catfood bowl beneath the car. Older Lexus SUV. She must have fallen on hard times.

I've read something like 40% of Americans would find a thousand dollar unexpected expense devastating.
I've known one person that had a car like the one above. The dude was just flipping lazy and disgusting.

Coworkers used to take bets on how long they could hold their head in the car and breath in the stench 🤢🤢🤢🤢

There were about 4 ant trails leading to the car.

And the dude almost lost his kids do to the condition of the inside of their home.

Wife and I parked next to a vehicle at target. The vehicle was slap full of trash. We happened to encounter the people getting in the car. They were dressed in high end clothes. Apparently they were just slots. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I do reasonably well, and yet everyday I see people crying poor, while driving cars more expensive than my own, or carrying the latest $1500 iPhone on an unlimited data plan. It's hard to not assume most of these problems are self-inflicted.
The basic unlimited plan ranges from $25 to $60 a month depending on the carrier.

I'm fortunate in that way as my wife can be either buried or interned with me in a national cemetery, One of the benefits of Vietnam service.

That expression is true in more cases than it's not. Excepting statistically-rare obstacles or disabilities, the golden ring is there for anyone's taking, as has been proven many times by many people.
