You Know You Are Old When

Maybe. My grandfather was entering his first apprenticeship at age 13 when the stock market collapsed and began the Great Depression, and thus a perfect draft-age 22 when WW2 started. I wonder if he really felt this way? :ROFLMAO:
I don't know about being the coolest, but they are The Greatest Generation. My father was of that era, and he deserved the title. It didn't matter WHAT life threw at him, he would just do the next right thing, and make the best of it.

You got that right bro!!! One thing I remember is never seeing any homeless people or tents ⛺️ on the street!
Born in 46!
Homeless were called hobo or bum and it was a title you didn't want to wear. Children had fathers at home, who whipped their ash when they did wrong. Mothers stayed at home and held the family together. Us old guys were privileged, because society was on one page, not divided. People knew right from wrong. The media was reporting, not writing the news. And a life was worth more. Way more.

I was born in 1938 and have witnessed and or been a part of all the generational changes and so far we have survived them all.

HOWEVER;

In a BBC interview in 2014, Hawking warned: “The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race.”

Makes me wonder how the future generations will cope.

I had several early 70s Novas. All had the straight six engines with plenty of room on the right side. I could change the starter from the top side. Just had to lean over the fender and reach under the starter. 15 minute job.
Likewise the alternator on my Subaru. Up top, center, just reach in.
