Rant on shipping

Here's a weird one. It's an Amazon package from a 3rd party supplier. I have no idea what "pending acceptance" means or why it's been at USPS for 5 days without moving. Fortunately it's not something I need in a hurry or even care that much about. They're projecting delivery on Nov 21 which will be 14 days since I ordered it.

New one for me...placed an order on Amazon. They shipped it USPS. I checked the tracking number every day; after a couple days I got a message that the shipment was delayed - for four days. The package delivered yesterday - via UPS! I've had UPS packages delivered by the USPS but never the other way around.

Idk if it’s wishful thinking or it really works..??
If a pkg on USPS is “stalled”, sign up for text notifications.. for some reason, it starts to move then..
I do it and have the customer do it..& the more eyes on it, the faster it moves..
It’s kinda like, “oh, someone is watching.”
I haven’t done it for UPS or Fed-up.. but it seems to work good on USPS..
Give it a try..

I have one package from Amazon via USPS that is still working it's way through but hasn't moved in months.

It's only been stuck since September, so any day now

I ordered a new one and got it 2 days later.

Right you are. Even more so if the sender puts a pkg locator out on it...suddenly they find it and deliver pronto.

USPS used to have much better tracking. Apparently it worked so well that they did away with it.
I ordered a breech plug tool for my BP rifle from a gunshop down in Florida; just a steel rod about o" long with a groove in one end and a lip in the other, like a screwdriver blade. It tracked up the east coast to Massachusetts, then it stopped.
For about 10 days it sat in the same distribution center, then started moving again. Presumably it got flagged because the shipping address was a gun shop and they had to make sure that it wasn't anything fun.

This happens when a large batch of pre addressed and issued tracking numbers packages are brought to the post office. The company sending them provides a list of all the items but the post office has not actually scanned individual boxes and entered them into their system. It can happen that companies fail to ship or mislay the item but still present the inventory list like they have sent it. Depending on how busy the post office is the pending acceptance time can be several days.
