I've gotten to the point of clothes cheapness where I'm trying to learn how to sew using my late mother's sewing machine. Sacrificing unfixable clothes material to fix unwearable in public clothes. Pointer if learning how to sew the bobbin can be your worst pet peeve imaginable. I can't stand wearing socks with holes in them they make ok shop rags for me though. Yet I'll save the good non holey one for when another sock gets a hole in it.

I told my 13-year-old that all of his socks have a hole in them. He looked at me like I was crazy until I asked, how else would you get your foot in them?
I'll admit I didn't read all 275 pages of this thread - I'm old and may not have that much time....
Anyway, Has anyone mentioned "RPMS" vs "RPM"? The "S" is after "Revolution" and shouldn't even show up in the acronym.

What if it’s turning real slow, like 1 revolution per minutes?
I always feel the same about things like “brothers in-law”, whenever someone refers to their several “brother in-laws”. It’s multiple brothers, not multiple laws.

There's a local retailer already pushing that they are the best place for last minute gift buying.

It's Nov. 18. Last I checked Christmas eve is Dec. 24.
People still have 35 days until it's flipp'n last minute.
I wish these retailers and all the others pressuring you to buy useless gifts would all go to H E double hockey sticks.

Last year, or maybe the year before, we told the kids, its Christmas light this year, because we also took a trip like Jan 3 to Gatlinburg. Honestly, they got about 1/3 of normal, and they didnt seem disappointed. We bury our selves in crap sometimes...

I think all our 13-year-old son will get this year is a phone. He's had one for a few years and it was a cheap junk phone when we got it for him. That's basically all he's asking for. I'm sure his mother will get him a few other things to unwrap that he won't be interested in.

My peeve:
My Mother recently passed so I have 50 phone calls to make. Most you have to go through many prompts to get to a human.
One is "For Spanish press 2"...???
Oh...I thought this was the United States where English was the primary language.
Then the human doesn't speak understandable English.
Today I call the phone company to disconnect her phone. One security question is "what are the last two numbers made from that phone?".
I lost it...how the (#$%&!*%) would anyone know THAT??? "Well then, we can't turn it off!".
Finally I said fine...she's deceased so the bills will go unpaid. Now what???
"If the bills go unpaid the phone gets turned off"....
