I got a shingles attack in 2004 during the first 2 months of dealing with retirement decisions. It showed up in left for-head . I thought it was a bug bite. If not treated it can move into eye. Not fun. Early treatment and getting retirement decisions settled helped a lot.
In 2020 I got Singles Shots. First one then 2 months later got second shot. Dr’s reason for getting shots was you can get Shingles more than one time.
I got vaccinated for that some time ago. I hate being sick so I'm vaccinated for everything I can. Got more fun things to do than being ill or making others sick. (y)

Packing for camp this am. Its 20 degrees at camp this morning while its 30 here in Houghton (lake does that) with a predicted high of high 40. Yesterday I got one storage basket installed in the trailer and all the tie down strips attached. Was happy with the work that was done.

51 outside right now and raining. Been a light, steady rain since around midnight. We can use it. May get to upper 50's today.

Yesterday I actually managed to do something. I ended up on an outbuilding roof screwing in some metal roofing panels that had blown off sometime last week. Pretty steep roof so I had some fun with the wife as she was providing overwatch. Had to come down, get more screws and change shoes since they had zero grip. Bending over, straddling the roof line was a wee bit uncomfortable, but it got done.
That building is a farm original and has been on my bucket list for replacement since we moved here. It houses our firewood and serves as a garage for the wife's equipment. I'll have to think hard and serious next year about demo and a new build.

I'd like to save the succotash tree that has grown up between the building and smaller outbuilding on the side. It is always colorful in the fall.

Need to get moving today and get some supplies for the upcoming holiday.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.

Good morning TBN!!
48 this morning and supposed to "shatter" the previous record high of 76. 78 I think.

I decided to continue sorting bolts and screws and nuts and washers. Emptied a couple of drawers and started a couple of new one. Lots of interesting things in a box I got at an auction a month or so ago.
Easy to sort the things above but not sure how to store or categorize things like brake parts, cable linkage parts and things like that. Too little, or in some case to big for a separate drawer.
Probably end up with some "junk" drawers. What do ya'll do?
I did find a wheel lug that will work on the buggy. That is what precipitated this project in the first place. Got to get it in to some Evapo-rust to see what I have. Pretty sure its the right size and thread.

But first a shower then a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

At my prior job, all of engineering and CAD were in one large room, divided into about 40 cubicles. In my first year there, one guy in our room came down with shingles, and then a second just a few days later. We all thought it was an odd coincidence.

Then about 10 years later, another guy got them, and within the same week, two more in the same room! Being a bunch of engineers, I'm surprised none of us took a moment to calculate the odds on that, exclusively-mutual cases over such a long span of ~500 weeks with no isolated cases in-between. But it seems there must be some contagious or communal factor, whatever triggers that disease to rear its ugly head must be something shared between the people who suffered from it.

I stayed another 5 years past that, and again, not a single isolated case after the last three had it together in the same week.
