Re P2312 ,bridge strike. WHY is it illegal to hang a steel pipe to act as a bell 100 yards out from an overhead bridge (space permitting)? This would acr as a NONdestuctive over height load stop. Instead they only put RIDGID beams DIRECTLY on the bridge to wreck the truck.
There was a bridge that was hit many times so they measured it. The height sign was WRONG.
The reason was the road just had overlays added and the height sign was never changed, so legal permitted overhight loads would hit it.

Indianapolis recently had a bridge strike on the new section that was redone in the last year or so of where I-70 & I-65 run together headed West/South, just before they split off ... Wonder if that was the reason?

There was a bridge that was hit many times so they measured it. The height sign was WRONG.

The famous Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has a pipe over each entrance to their parking garages, which is at the wrong height. I cleared the pipe just fine, but hit the roof of my truck on an overhead sign inside the garage.

Honestly, just about the last thing any parent needs, when they find themselves at CHOP!

We have bridges here with pipes hung before the bridge. It was not fun watching a full size Amazon truck hit the pipe and then the bridge.
They had to close the bridge multiple times to fix it.
Took a long time just to get the truck backed out into the road again to stop blocking the whoel entrance.
We had another Amazon truck try to get on another small bridge only a few miles upstream.
Luckily this one stopped a bit after he hit the pipe and he was able to back it up after about 20 tries.
Lots of signs in front of the pipe which can easily be seen before you hit the entrance.

The smaller of the two bridges, if a box truck does get on it, they have to stop opposite traffic and back everyone up. Love that bridge.

Passed these guys Friday on the way home. Guess they didnt have any straps, so one guy sat on the bike on the trailer to keep it upright

Yep - all states have their rules. MI always had the red bubble on the State

I remember driving in Michigan "some time ago" in my Suburban with barn doors. The center posts of those doors prevented me from seeing the state trooper's flashing red bubble, until he got on his loudspeaker to get my attention. Yes, I got a ticket - but only for speeding.

Hmm. I've never had a Suburban with a center post so wide that it blocked both door mirrors.
