Sometimes you learn the most from people who don’t always agree with you or post feel good stuff. He could be contentious but he was spot on most of the time.
Not to be argumentative, but he was also wrong or controversial on quite a few things over the years. Also tendency to belittle guys with equipment smaller than his, which rubbed me the wrong way cause his was small, too. Definitely very strongly opinionated to his detriment. It doesn’t matter anymore, the man has passed and I don’t believe in talking bad about people when they have no means to respond, but it’s best to keep it real.

Yes, I remember his Kubotas being the best ever built and straight from Japan.

I was reminded daily 🤣
He was as flawed as any of us. A bit pig-headed at times, but still a likeable guy, and a great contributor. I'll miss seeing his frequent posts.

5030 was Abrasive but interesting , he had the best of just about everything or at least he thought so, yes I do miss reading his posts. RIP 5030

I think the written word only can be easily misconstrued.

I like the term contentious, kind of like ornery or cantankerous.

Some of us are like beer. At first you don't like it when you first try it, but the more you have and get use to it, the better it is.

Sometimes when you get older, the filter between your brain and mouth gets to be missing and anything will come out on what you think. Sad to say, I've always been kind of old like that, or so my wife always tells me (my pastor might have used the term cantankerous with me LOL).

If you're like me, I prefer my dogs over most general people.

Looks like 5030 wanted donations made to his local humane society and for the obit, he had a picture of his dog on his lap. Tells me I had no clue about the guy and I'd like him right off the bat if we met because we have a lot in common right there.
