Yep, and given certain circumstances you have to go to your clergy because you need an escape clause to the rules because you find out you can't follow the rules for some dumb reason
Technically speaking, I believe my family was Greek Carpatho Russian Orthodox, so believe me, I'm familiar with all the rules that can be in religion that really have nothing to do with the kind of life you should lead IMO.
When I told one of my last surviving aunts (on my moms side) that my dad was being cremated over the phone, there was a pause, and then she said "oh, you know if you're cremated you can't get into Heaven?" I love her enough that I just kept my mouth shut (I would have started off by stating that originally my father was catholic and was kicked out of the catholic church for my marrying my mom, so perhaps he was exempt?

Back in the 70's and 80's, no way would my father every be caught dead being cremated, it was against the "rules". Being my dad was one of about 10 siblings and my mom was 1 of 11, and my dad lived long enough to see about 30 of his siblings and brother and sister in laws buried, he came to the conclusion that following a lot of the "old burial rules" was both kind of stupid, possibly a real PITA, and definitely cost more money.
Given the fact that he died in NC and was getting buried with his wife at a national cemetery along with a bunch of his brothers close to 500 miles away, I was kind of grateful he told us that when he was gone, just cremate him and get him up to the cemetery to be with his wife, and that he would haunt me if I didn't have an open bar and dinner on him after his service.
That said, whatever floats your boat and whatever you believe in to get into your heaven, knock yourself out.
