I just want to add that not all little girls are so graceful. All three of my kids that have reached walking/running age tend to run at full speed in crocs-type shoes without regard to terrain. 2 boys, one girl. Always when they fall, regardless of ***, I reprimand them for running carelessly, to no avail of course. Well, the oldest doesn't faceplant so much.

Boy did you strike a nerve. I have twin grandsons, who will soon be 12 years old. We kept them when they were small, and they seemed to run everywhere they went, especially in the house. "Run", or "Don't run", as the case may be, meant the same to thing to them...And they STILL run in the house!

A good friend's father fell from a light tower and died while building our high school football stadium. It happens!
