2006 Kioti DK45se HST
I have a DK45se HST with about 600 hours on it. The FWD switch is not engaging the front wheels. The light comes on solidly if the switch is engaged, less bright and flickers, but never goes out when I turn of the switch off.

I did check under the tractor for unplugged connections or other obvious issues, but everything looks good there. I raised the front end of the tractor, raised one rear wheel and hit the forward pedal. The rear wheel spun, the drive shaft to the front end did not with the switch engaged or non engaged.

I understand that there is a magnetic switch that engages the FWD system to spin that driveshaft.

Is this something I can test and get to easily? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, I'll check those out soon. Would the light for the FWD be on if the fuse was blown?

that i have no idea about. it might be powered by some other source.

I've attached three circuit diagrams for the Australian EX series that seem close to the DKSE series. I have the DKSE manual and the diagram for this part is the same(posting the EX diagrams is easier than scanning parts of the DK diagram).

Electric_1 and Electric_2 show the 4WD light as always "hot" and the '21' reference on Electric_2 connects to '21' on Electric_3, which completes the connection to ground. I'm not that good at these, but it appears this connection will be made (and the light will shine) even with a failed 4WD relay and/or a failed PTO\4WD fuse.

From the diagram it looks like if the PTO is working the fuse for PTO and 4WD is OK; and the problem (if electrical) would be the 4WD solenoid or its wiring.

stacemoss,
Just out of curiosity, did you figure out the issue? I've been having problems of the same nature recently. I suspect it may be related to the ignition and thus the electrical.

I too have a clear light come on. For a while, I could get the 4wd to engage when the switch was off, but not when on. As of today, it won't engage either way. I'm planning on getting a new key switch on Monday and I hope that fixes that problem and an issue I'm having with my glow plugs not working properly.

Happened to me a couple of times on my DK40se. Each time I had managed to disconnect some of the electrical connectors under the operator station just inboard of the left step. Reconnecting fixed it. Brush was the culprit in each case and I think it was when I was reversing out of thick brush.

My issue was with the PTO solenoid. It was shorted. With the PTO switch engaged, the light stayed on for the 4WD. I disconnected the PTO solenoid and everything works great now.
