I have the WSM for the machine, but if it ever discusses the amperage/wattage availability of the charging system, I'm missing it.

I'm trying to learn what the charging system puts out, and what is available for me to consume with the addition of NiLight LED lights. I'm looking at adding 4 x 18W cubes (2 rear facing, 2 side facing) and 2 36W front facing.

Call it 110 Watts total. I did already order and have on hand LED bulbs to replace all if the factory incandescent 1156 bulbs on the machine, so I'll be returning at least that amount of power back into usable electricity.

Do, does anybody know what the charging system is like in this and how much spare/overhead power we have to work with? If there is enough power left on the table, I also have a short curved bar that I could install... But first I really need to know what I have to work with here.

Rock crawler, I’ve looked st this before also and some sites have conflicting info. Some places are showing 16 amp for ROPS and 40 for the cab model. I have a hard time believing this. The bx tractors even came with the small 40amp automotive style alternators. All John Deere SCUTs and up come with 40 as a minimum and then up. I would like to hope the 2650s have a 40amp. If it truly is less than that is something I will have to be upgrading also..

Hopefully someone that knows responds.

16 amps? Wow, that's like.... Not really anything. My wife's vib..... Never mind.... Anyways, it takes more than 16 amps to run!

Do you have a picture of yours, I did some quick reading and it says the 2650 doesn’t even have a real alternator, it is a dynamo style.
This will make me mad if it’s true. My BX2370 atleast has a real alternator.
I hope my research is wrong

Tractor data is showing 60amps.

Another site said 40amps for ROPS
And 60 amps for cab

I hope that’s true.

If we do have 40amp alternators you will be fine with any amount of LEDS

40 amps at 12 volts is 480 Watts, 60 amps at 12 volts is 720 Watts.

I'm looking at 144 Watts of lighting, so at the 480 Watts, I wonder if any sparky guys have a way to test what the machine uses to determine what about we have remaining.

Hopefully someone who knows more than I do about a multimeter can tell us at least how to measure the total amount draw of the base machine.

I'm off today, I think I'm going to go pull the tractor out and look for something similar to an alternator.

I have the WSM here, it clearly says and shows an Alternator. See no point does it ever discuss the output

So based on the WSM I'm pretty sure that we are not stuck with the dynamo.... Whatever that is? Also, I'm going to guess that since we do have an alternator according to our manual, we have AT LEAST 40 amps.... 100 amps would be a lot better! When I bought my B2650 rops machine, I researched this question. The rops model has a 14.5 amp dynamo, and the cab model has a 55 amp alternator. There are some alternator upgrade options for the dynamo. When I added 4 LED lights to my tractor, I bought an amp clamp to check amp draw with everything on, and then knew what I could use for LED lights. with all the lights, flashers and new 4 LED lights on I am about an 11 amp draw for the whole system. The 4 new LED lights are 6 amps out of the 11 amps. So my dynamo will handle it ok. Through experimentation though, I have to be running at least 1800 rpms for the dynamo to put out that many amps. That is not a problem as I run close to pto rpm for doing any work. If I am going to take a break from like plowing snow, I just flip off the LEDS and set it to high idle. I have almost 800 hrs on mine doing it this way with no problems. I was going to upgrade to the alternator if need be, but havent had to. I would suggest buy an amp clamp or from where I see you work, you could probably borrow one, turn everything on and see what you have left available and then figure out your lights. Good luck with your build.

That’s crazy when the 50 series B is the “premium” tractor. And they have a dynamo on it. When a bx has a 40 amp alternator. Why don’t they give you the option to upgrade the alternator at build my kubota when ordering the tractor new. Like they do on other models.
I’m really disappointed in this. Looks like I will be doing an alternator upgrade. I did one on my 455 John Deere myself.

Do this is a 14.5 amp Dynamo?

There is a ton of space, I could add in a 140 amp GM 1 wire alternator and replace that.IMG_20180202_093108040.jpgIMG_20180202_093125840.jpgIMG_20180202_093143552.jpg1517582065079.jpg
