So that brought up another question. My helper plugged the wires in for me before I got a chance to intervene. The two wires coming off the switch are black, but the ones that plug it into the harness are orange and green. Please tell me it makes no difference...
@TractorTech you're a lifesaver! Logic prevails. So then, one more question. I did check the switch while installed and had continuity. Didn't get the opportunity to check the switch's plunger action in the rush to reinstall it into the transmission case...however, the manual says that it...
@dlctcg, I searched around for a balk pin thread but no joy. Started a new one to see if anybody knows which way that pin goes. I really appreciate your sharing the manual. Mine didn't address it at all. Makes you wonder...I guess posting is like fishing, if you don't throw your line in, you...
This is part 2 to "it won't start"...but in tracing circuits on my tractor, rI emoved the rear PTO safety switch and the pin fell out. It is rounded on one end and flat on the other. Which way does it go back into the transmission? Two different parts diagrams are of little help, actually have...
Wow, that is a real help. My manual shows pretty much the same diagram, which is how I found the balk pin. However, it didn't say anything about the pin (nor the hydro bath, but that wasn't a surprise!) I had tested it in the machine, but since the manual showed it with "pin out" and "pin in"...
I wish that was the issue. I checked both with a meter - check my post with the picture with what "may" have fallen out of the transmission from the rear PTO safety switch...
I pulled out the shop manual and went down the line on the testing for "no start" conditions. The manual neglects to mention that removing the rear PTO switch comes with a quick dose of hydraulic fluid. I knew this already as I just did the 9 gallons or so when I did the filters! BUT, I found...
Good intentions...was digging a hole for a new flag pole and the auger stuck on a root. After digging out the root and trying the auger several times, suddenly the tractor wouldn't start. Lights came on the dash, but nothing. A friend came over and used a huge crescent wrench and turned the main...
I've attached a video of the noise my TC29D is making. Hope someone can help me figure out what to do. I changed one of the FEL's hydraulic hoses. I cannot find anywhere in the shop manual how to bleed the air from the system. The noise gets worse with higher RPM/pressure from the pump. First...
