Front Axle Fluid Level on BX1500

To get an accurate reading do you want to thread the dipstick all the way into the axle or just poke it in? (There is a big difference in the two readings) Thank you

I want to thank everyone for the replies. I've decided to buy a compact middle buster and install AG tires.

Middle Buster/Potato Harvester for sub-compact Kubota

What's easier to pull - a potato plow or a potato digger? Are chains comparable to AG tires? I've heard the plow tends to cut or mangle the potatoes, what do you guys think?

Middle Buster/Potato Harvester for sub-compact Kubota

Looking for an attachment to harvest potatoes with my Kubota BX1500. It has a Category 1 Hitch and 15HP. We plant potatoes very shallow, only about an 1" below the surface in Alaska. Anybody have experience with a potato plow or 3 point digger on a subcompact? Thank you for all replies

    Kubota BX1500D Leaky Tank Barb

Wow was I suprised. I waited a week before reinstalling the fuel line and filling the tank. Then, 4 days later it's leaking from the same spot. Before I applied the 5200, I cleaned the tank with soap and water and the threads with brake clean. Luckily the fitting just screwed back out...

    Kubota BX1500D Leaky Tank Barb

I applied the 5200 last night and have the barb clamped in place. Cure time is 7 days according to the packaging. Has that been your experience? Thanks for the tip

    Kubota BX1500D Leaky Tank Barb

That's a thought, what's a good thing to use that is resistant to diesel? From what I've read silicone isn't fuel rated.

    Kubota BX1500D Leaky Tank Barb

I have a BX1500D and I've noticed recently that the fuel barb coming out of the tank won't stay tight. It's leaking slightly and I feel like if I tighten the barb much more it will just spin in the hole. Any ideas on a fix? The tank is plastic, barb is metal. Thank you for reading and/or replying

BX1500 Angry When Started in Cold Weather

Tractor lives in a garage. I've tried to install both the heaters you recommend but they were pretty much impossible to get on the BX1500. Really wish I could though.

I couldn't find any Rotella T6 in town but I got some Mobil 1 5W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel oil. Going to try that. Running SUDT2 in the HST.

BX1500 Angry When Started in Cold Weather

I have owned a BX1500 for a few years here in Alaska. During the winter I warm the engine with a torpedo heater for about 30 minutes before start and this usually results in the engine starting like it would on a summer day. This year however it is colder than usual, already well below zero...
