I have done both, highly recommend grinding the stumps. Saves a lot of work. Unless you’re a professional with a 12,000 pound machine it will take you three days to dig them out.

Dawn dish soap in a pressure sprayer well take them out of the air instantly. You will probably still get stung but if you can soak the nest good they’re done

I have put up light poles using light metal pipe 4 inches in diameter from fire sprinkling systems. Check with the company that sells fire pipe comes in 20 foot Lanks late enough to handle
