All depends on what your landscape is. You got trees or a lot of things to go around, zero turn makes your life so much easier. If you got big grass fields, a 3 point rear discharge mower mowes that down fast, but will leave lumps of grass if you drive too fast.

I converted all my machines over to AGM. Had enough of bad flooded batteries spilling acid everywhere because they leaked (battery post) or shorted out cell (boiled acid spilling) and other stunts. Followed by me cleaning stripping and repainting. Grr. Done with that.

When the tire gets warm and you drive it around for a while the tire will get round again and stop making you bounce around. Add some slime afterwards inside the tire and all should be good.

My 1526 is like 8 or nine years old now. The only thing that was leaking like every 1526 is that valve block on the bottom right side for the loader. Other than that, zero issues. Even so I have mostly a 1000 pound heavy flail mower with an arm on it. The 1626 should be very similar to the 1526.

Same on my Mahindra 1526 HST. I had or replace that positive terminal and paint the battery tray. After that venture I replaced the battery with a larger AGM battery. No problems since then.

The only problem is that the DPF burn may error out if you disconnect that and the pump isn’t doing anything.

I did the same thing, putting weight on the 3 point hitch.

Does the shop manual have a hydraulic diagram. You’ll probably find that there are 2 hydraulic pumps. You did already the easy stuff, so pressure testing is paramount at this point. My bet is that there is nothing much coming from the pump and that it is FUBAR.
