Ordered an M5-091 cab / no loader

Too bad they didn't take care of the speed coefficient. Seems like normal set up to me.

    Kubota vs Massey advice

Found actual weights of my M7040SU. I would bet that M9540 weighs a lot more than the book says. Operator's manual tractor weight: 4608lb Actual tractor with rear cast centers & fluid + loader mounts (no boom or bucket) : 7300lb Actual tractor with rear cast centers & fluid + loader &...

    Kubota vs Massey advice

All the US built Kubota loaders everywhere else in the world have Euro standard. Not sure why they kept the US market models with SS. My op manuals show both types, I have two US built L series loaders with Euro/Global.

    Kubota vs Massey advice

5K is hard to replace. You are right on the larger tractors, Kubota did have to start heavier and larger frames. All the orange dealers here now are basically full line and the M7 & M8 are showing up on the lots. Years ago Kubota was "under 100" and most dealers sold another color for larger units.

    Kubota vs Massey advice

Compare actual weight. I have a feeling Kubota specs declare the bare shipping weight from Japan minus tires and rims which are fitted at the dealer. I have an M7040SU. Book says it's 4600lb. Actual weight (cast wheels & fluid) is 7300, with loader it is 8500lb. Got actual numbers wrote down...

    Hay forks

I would buy something made from HLA. Might not work for you in Texas though. If you are in an hurry and you have a SS QA, almost any farm dealers should have a SS QA bale spear on the lot. Not sure current price, but they USED to be well under $500.

    For the Canadians here

Neat some US stuff not tariffed. RTV and Mowers tariffed.

Sickle Bar Can someone identify the make and mode of the 7ft sickle mower?

Massey Ferguson visible in the photos. Perhaps those on a phone can't see it large enough. Looks like an older MF 41 Dynabalance.

Does any one strain their diesel?

I strain through a funnel. I'm glad the dead bugs and fly wings don't end up in my tractor tank. Given my bulk fuel tank is sealed they are either in the fuel or they crawl up the spout.

    Hay forks

If this is something you plan to do each year invest in a QA bale spear, one long prong and two small prongs. I have both chain on style that goes on regular bucket and QA one. The chain on one is awkward and puts the bale way out front, but fits any loader bucket. QA one way nicer and keeps...

3pt broadcast seeder that can be run from cab.

10MPH would have most of the seed bouncing out of the top of the hopper on a rough field.

3pt broadcast seeder that can be run from cab.

Some of the older Vicon spreaders (1990s era) had a hydraulic hose/cylinder to open the gate rather than a lever. My older Vicon has the lever making using a cab tractor awkward, I run it on open station.

Ordered an M5-091 cab / no loader

111 and 091 same physical size too. Wondered the real world price difference. Should be nice when it comes.

    Attaching pto implements

With engine off you should be able to turn the tractor shaft 1/4 turn. Keep tractor end greased and same with implement end. I wear gloves when hitching so hands stay greaseless. I have everything from light 3pt implement shafts that can be turned by hand to heavy and long CV Shafts that...

    Opinions on older diesel trucks

Pretty well any late 90s/ early 2K pre-emissions GM/ Dodge or Ford will be decent. Manual transmission too. Salt kills everything here. Any of the above trucks in decent shape command a premium.
