    Grass build up

I take the covers off every spring to make sure there's no build up. So far, there has been none with the exception of what comes in around the grease zerks. In the early 90s I was mowing 10-15 acres a day with an F2100. We put a little over 1000 hrs a year on the machines. No issues with...

    Grass build up

I generally hate having covers over things. My Kubota F series has 2 covers on the deck that prevent access to the belts and spindles (except for the cutouts for the grease zerks). I leave that cover in place for this very reason.

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

Definitely on my list to try. The only problem is accessing it. Between the loader frame and the cab, I'm not certain I can actually reach anything on the top of the fuel filter. When I changed the filter last week, I had to use a screwdriver and small hammer to loosen and tighten the bowl...

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

Looked up the fuel system in my service manual and found this. Looks like that line tees into the return line that runs from the injectors to the tank so capping it off shouldn't create any other problems. It makes sense that this would be causing me problems. The machine has spent its life...

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

Isn't that the return line? I've never had any issues with the return lines on any of my other diesel engines. Seems like capping it off would be hard on the fuel pump and make it more difficult to blead air out after doing any work on the fuel system.

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

If its not normal to have air in the fuel filter bowl, then it sure seems like it has to be the vent or a restriction in the fuel line. I believe that fuel line was replaced by the dealership, but that doesn't mean that it didn't have an obstruction in it, or they didn't get it pinched or...

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

I think I had tried running it without the lid on at one point, but can't recall now. I've been worried that there might be junk in the tank or in a fuel line, but it seems like the issue would be more sporadic if it was something in the tank. If its stuck in the drain or elbow, that could...

    2008 TC40DA loosing power

I picked up a 2008 TC40DA in Jan to replace my old Ford 1710. Time will tell, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be some of the best money I've ever spent. That said, I do have one issue with it. After its been running for a while (30min to an hour), it acts like its starving for fuel, or...

    lynch pin alternative

Same here. I'm pretty sure that one of them bit the tip of my finger within the first few minutes of trying to use them. Only made that mistake once....

    lynch pin alternative

I started out using regular lynch pins and buying them in 10 packs. I'd loose a few every time I bush hogged. I switched to the heavy duty version that have a MUCH stiffer spring, and I think I've only lost one or two pins since then.

I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I hear that they are going to have a rear handle clone soon. I'm waiting for that. I normally run bigger saws, but a rear handle 2511 would make a great limbing saw for me.

Help me decide, 3 trucks I need to pick 1 from.

I'd put money on the fact that in the first 5 years of ownership, the money you spend repairing any of the new diesels on your list will be enough to buy your current F350, and who ever buys that F350 from you will still be running it up and down the road without a care in the world. If the...

    Price Check Sell or Scrap

Farm Pro is a rebadged Jinma (Chinese) tractor. Rural King used to sell them. A friend of mine has one (25hp with a loader) that they bought new in 2000. I had borrowed it a few times. It always runs great for them. For me, not so much. When they moved in 2018, they tried to sell it along...

    new saw

Around here, a used 066/660 starts at $600 but there aren't very many of them. At that price, plan on having to do a fair amount of work on the saw before you run it much. At the very least, it would need all new seals and boots. Most of the 90cc saws around here were bought by a farmer or...

Looking for best quality/price for 48" rotary tiller with adjustable tilling depth

I agree. Even in soft ground, I'm not convinced that a tiller would be a good tool for the job. It's going to take several passes, and you're going to have to go pretty slow. I would think that a disc would do a much better and faster job of slicing through the roots and turning over the top...
