    another tractor in trouble

Tell me about it. The rollover was my son. I'd been busy with something else and when I looked up I saw THAT, an empty seat and in my mind my son who tried to jump underneath it all. THAT was a bad feeling! It took me a good 2 seconds to see him standing 10 feet to the left. The more/less 20...

    another tractor in trouble

I stumbled on an article "Tractors in trouble" but can't find the thread. So here's two of mine from the past

Checking the timing on a Kubota L2500

Thanks for the informative response! And a few years later the saga continues :) My BOSCH inline pump doesn't seem to have the view-port or I'm too dumb to find it. It's on a normally aspirated F6L912 in my 1991 Deutz-Fahr-Dx-6.05 (european model). The good book says to time it with a...

    Deutz Dx-6.05 hyd. oil reservoir

A little follow-up on this: it never rains but pours! I had broken the piece during stripping, had it welded by a pro but the weld was faulty and I broke it again, he tried again but finally gave up saying it was not weldable. So I made one out of a block of aluminum myself:

    big radial sidewall damage repair

I found a used tire for $250, finished the fornt axle-build and stowed it just in time for winter. The rebuilt engine should emerge from the skunk-works in May.

    big radial sidewall damage repair

Wow, I didn't know about these replies, thanks gang!!! Somehow I'm not getting the email notices, maybe I've been blacklisted again by the anti-spam gestapo. I found an almost identically worn tire, working on getting it shipped BUT now that I have stepped into the topic I might as well learn...

    big radial sidewall damage repair

I came upon this video which I don't think I'd want to undertake but I do have a bucket-tooth victim in the form of a relatively low-pressure Michelin 440/65R28 (front on a Deutz Dx-6.05). The damage is in the form of a flap that's hanging and is about 4" wide by 6" long. The backhoe boom...

    Deutz Dx-6.05 hyd. oil reservoir

My Dx-6.05 has this integrated cast iron tank under the seat. I had to repair the (yellow/red) control module (top left) and also the (white) cover and make a new gasket. The inside of the tank looked clean enough but the 3 (yellow dots) ports have some dirt in them. That's where the ganged...

    Window mounting 'buttons'

I don't know how to undo/redo these and I don't wanna break the glass if at all possible

    Any Deutz-Fahr Dx-6.05 owners/operators aboard?

Anybody seen an "engine removal/installation" chapter in any documemtation for this? I'd really enjoy not becoming a reddish brown stain underneath it.

    Tractor Sizing Nothing-Electronic... 4x4... cabin.. 6-cyl?

Just in closing I GOTTA thank all the advice received here in 6 years, I really was sold on them 5130's but what scared me were the horror stories about speed-shifts and shuttle-switches none of which I need. And then came this dx6.05 with a 3-point on each end plus effetively 3 PTO's.

    Tractor Sizing Nothing-Electronic... 4x4... cabin.. 6-cyl?

Done! Just as I was casing a Case-IH 5130 that I was ready to buy I stumbled upon a 1991 Deutz-Fahr-Dx-6.05 with an air cooled 6-holer. Its F6L912 engine puts out only about 300 ft-lbs but some versions of it can go to 500 (3 size ranges of crank throw and cyl bore combos avail, I yet have to...

    Any Deutz-Fahr Dx-6.05 owners/operators aboard?

I will be looking for expertise, documentation, new/used parts sources and *whatever I can find* Addendum 2022-11-09: Hauled it home yesterday, only arriving did we spot an 8 inch bolt almost completely fallen out of the trailer left undercarriage bogie at the end of a 1300km run (brand-new...

    Tractor Sizing Nothing-Electronic... 4x4... cabin.. 6-cyl?

I *have* 2 5.9's, one in my snow-blower and one that's almost new in the shop thast needs some TS and maybe a fuel pump but if I just drop in the long block and adopt the 5130 accessories then not even that.

    lift capacity vs. breakout force

I just looked at some more recent Cat specs and noticed a trend to cite breakout in terms of torque rather than force (i.e. ft-lbs). Still my 426's supposedly 50% above lift capacity breakout force means that, if I hit a bump in the road while transporting, my snow blower kept comfortably aloft...
