    Does Anyone Buy Used Tractors?

I think most who ask questions about buying a tractor on TBN buy new because they are new to tractors (thus all the questions) and because of this are uncomfortable buying used. I'd guess there's a lot of buying and selling used that you never hear about. Believe me, it's very easy to sell a...

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

Yes, one of the front cylinders is bent. I noticed it maybe 2 yrs ago. It doesn't leak or seem to affect functionality. I've done a lot of prying of stuff out of the ground with forks and removing trees with stump buckets. So I'm not really surprised that I bent one. I'm guessing I hooked a...

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

I got it hooked up on the front and am extremely impressed with build quality and the pinch force of the lid. The log in this picture is one that I can barely get off the ground with forks. And I'm rated at 2700+ full height and ~3700 at ground level (at pin). I was amazed that this grapple...

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

Sorry, no pics doing actual work. All I've done is take it off the pallet, put it on the back of the tractor and made sure that it worked. I'm in the process of ordering hoses so I can put it on the front. I'll share more when that process is done. Everything was greased and it functioned as...

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

I realize this is an old thread... but I finally pulled the trigger on a Frostbite! I bought it through FrostBite Grapples - Grapple, Log Grapple and Todd was very responsive and answered all my questions. Delivery was quick about 1 week and everything looks to be as requested. I can give a...

Yes, it was poison Ivy. But it's been dead and dried up for a long time. My forearms rubbed against it while setting the chains yesterday and I didn't get anything from it.

Another big log... don't even have the mill together yet and will have to trim this some to get it on. (and figure out a way to lift it, can barely drag it!)

Used prices going up, up, up - Tractor Futures!

You know, they don't calculate inflation like they did in the 70's. If they did, this past year would be around 15% instead of the 8% figure they're using. There has been a ton of inflation since I bought my tractor. I'd guess around 50% using a fair calculation, not the governments.

Used prices going up, up, up - Tractor Futures!

This thread got me curious. A used 2012 DS4510HS with 900 hours is the same price on Tractor-house as I paid for my 2013 new.

might mill some lumber out of this one... This big log was in a drainage ditch full of water and too heavy to lift with an attachment so had to go to the strap.

CK35 HST Engine Stop Solenoid Fail

Just adding my experience. I have a 2013 Kioti DS4510HS and 2 days ago I had the exact same problem. Wouldn't start. Pulled the stop solenoid and it started. Tested everything with a meter. Couldn't find anything wrong. Replaced the stop solenoid relay with the starter relay and it worked...

This is the best picture I have that shows the end. Now that I'm looking at it more closely, I'm wondering if it's ash?

Sorry to disrupt the Mill talk, but I just got a nice chunk of white oak (17ft and nearly 2ft diameter) and I'm going to make a staircase out of it that goes to the treehouse I'm building with my kids. Any advice on what to treat it with to keep it from decaying?

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

I'm definitely going narrow and single lid. I do push over trees on occasion and my stump bucket is my favorite tool for pushing them over or digging out the ball if needed. However, if the tree is small enough to pry out of the ground in one motion then forks are my go to. It's amazing what...

Help me pick best grapple for my tractor!

Adding a picture to explain how I'm using the 3pt to transport logs. This particular load came from a wood lot 2 miles down the road. 2 miles is the furthest I go. All other wood lots that I use are within 1/2 mile by road. I'm positioning logs by hand. I'd like to carry them sideways to...
