Top link extender help - finding one like the included photo

If you can weld you could make one. Not that hard. I made one for my L6060 a few years ago and it still works fine. If you don't have the equipment you could get a welding / fab shop to make one or better yet get a friend to make one for you. That's what friends do, lol.

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Looking at those hand hewn posts and beams I am so impressed with what was accomplished without the use of the modern equipment we have today. I can't imagine how long it would take to make those. Need and determination yields results.

    Crack in wood stove

The cracks aren't spreading so I will leave well enough alone for now.

Why didn't you just cut one foot off each log?

    Crack in wood stove

I drilled a hole at the end of the crack and put a small bolt in it. When the temps warm up a bit I will grind and weld. I want to clean the back side of the crack before welding it again, to avoid any contamination. So I will have to let the stove die down some first but not now. It's still too...

    Crack in wood stove

This is on the outside of the stove. I'd burn my hands pretty bad trying to get a pic of the inside, lol. That thing to the right actually looks like some kind of blemish, up close. Not sure though. It appears to be slightly indented and a bit of a pit in the middle. I agree with your process...

    Crack in wood stove

What do you mean by a "baffle plate"? Perhaps a reinforcing plate at those weak points. These cracks are not on the door but on the front faceplate just outside of the angle iron that the door seals against.

    Crack in wood stove

It will be a while though as I don't plan on doing this until the heating season is over or just about over.

    Crack in wood stove

no problemo, lol. I just found another hairline crack at the bottom right hand side of the door. Appears to be a weak spot at the door frame. Funny thing is I have an older Blaze King Princess that I use my shop and it does not have these issues. I suspect the problem with the King is that it...

    Crack in wood stove

As I have already noted this is a mild steel stove there is no cast iron. There have been several suggestions to use brazing rod and I will do some checking on that. Maybe it is more capable of dealing with the expansion and contraction these stoves go through Skeletor: did your weld hold and...

    Crack in wood stove

This is a modern Blaze King wood stove with a catalytic converter it was bought new 15 years ago. Plus we have CO detectors in the house. I understand the idea of the stop drilling but can't leave a hole in my wood stove. I will try drilling then welding the hole afterwards. Worst thing that...

    Crack in wood stove

Thanks! I think I will wait until the heating season is over and then drill a small hole at the end of the crack, open up the crack to get good penetration, preheat the steel and then weld it again.

    Crack in wood stove

My 15 year old wood stove has a hairline crack radiating out from the upper right hand corner of the door frame. It is about 3" long and barely visible. The metal is 1/8" thick steel. I have previously welded this crack a few years ago when it was shorter. I am wondering if this will just keep...

Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

-34C this morning but thankfully no wind chill and the sun is shining. Next snowfall predicted on Monday and the temps will start rising tomorrow, with normal temps returning Monday. Then by the end of the week and for all of the following it is supposed to get above normal and rain everyday...
