Anyone have opinions on the Bad Boy ZTs

The ZT Elite has 3100 hydros, not 2800.

    Gooseneck for 150/1500 truck

When we bought a new, 24' gooseneck deckover from Kaufman Trailers, they delivered it (about 200 miles) with an F150. We live in the Blue Ridge Mtns, with some hard pulls, and the driver had no problems. My father has an 18 F150, and it has a gooseneck hitch. He's pulled a 16' stock trailer with...

Kohler 26hp twin on Craftsman riding mower - oily carb???

Has the air filter been oiled? Perhaps it's residue.

    2012 5065E fuel pump question

You could have bacteria in the fuel tank, which will float around and block the fuel inlet. There are treatments to break it up so that it'll flow through and burn up in the combustion process. I've seen it twice (physically, not hypothetically), in a truck and a Deere 790. I treat all of our...

    5050E front weights necessary?

It'll also depend on how far back the weight is situated. Some implements, like a 3 point hitch mounted bush hog, puts a lot of weight 6 or 8 feet back from the ends of the lift arms. It's not just the weight, but where it's located. Other than if money is an issue, front weights are a good...

M59 Help: Dealer Wants $6K to Replace the Wiring Harness

That would be a question for him, not me. I know him, he's as honest as the day is long, and he said that mice had chewed his harness over the Winter, the tractor wouldn't start, and the dealership had replaced the harness for that price. I don't know other details, but I also know that he...

M59 Help: Dealer Wants $6K to Replace the Wiring Harness

A friend of mine has a Deere 1023E, and mice got to it the first Winter he owned it. That was a $6000 bill for the dealership to replace the wiring harness.

JD 790 Clutch Pedal Linkage Adjustment

When everything is correct, the pedal stop is not an issue. Therefore, removing it won't solve the problems- determine WHY you have very little travel for the clutch/transmission engagement. I doubt that it's an issue in the linkage. My first thought would be a worn out clutch.

3-Point Hitch Upgrade for stabilizer arms?

There is no available upgrade, other than fabricating something.

    JD 790 PTO Adjustment

Being a 2 stage clutch, are you pushing the pedal all the way down before engaging the PTO? The PTO clutch is all the way down; the transmission engagement is about halfway. You can shift the transmission without breaking power to the implement by depressing the clutch half way. Only the 2WD's...

    Rant on shipping

I ordered some seat covers from Seat Covers Unlimited, in May. Recently, I finally received a notice that they were going through final inspection, and I should expect to receive them soon. I waited, then inquired. I was then given a tracking number, and an email stating that they were on the...

Sthil Commercial Line Trimmers with 4 Cycle engines (still require 50:1 fuel/oil mix) - any experience

I have an FS130 that I've worked hard for 14 years, no issues, just regular maintenance. I'd buy another one, no question.

    Do you grease/maintain borrowed equipment?

I don't borrow, so it isn't a topic of discussion for me. However, if I did, I would discuss it with them prior to use. Would you like me to service it? What do you want me to use? If not (I understand and respect why someone would want to do it themselves), can I give you some money for the...

Is thirty years too long to keep a lawn mower?

I'm running a 40 year old Steiner S20, and it's got tons of life left. I like the older, simpler, more durable stuff.

Zero turn vs. 4X4 tractor for mowing

I've mowed considerably with a tractor/60" finish mower, a 48" zero turn, and a Steiner articulating tractor. These are my observations, limited to my context- mowing the same large area (3 acres weekly), with the tractor and zero turn. The tractor with the 60" finish mower mows the most in a...
