    Rear ballast box

They are for holding chainsaws. Here is the thread I did on it. https://tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/3pt-concrete-ballast-build-for-logging-firewood.446773/page-4

    Rear ballast box

Well, I would agree that it seems like a lot of weight but it’s really not. Remember that it is not just the weight of the ballast but how far back it is ( the center of gravity)from the attachment pins. My 1600lbs ballast block with a center of gravity at 12” from the pins is no different than...

    Rear ballast box

I made mine using concrete with attachments to carry my chainsaws and other tools. It was sized to weigh 1600 lbs.

Source for 1/2"x72" cutting blade for Land Plane Build

I am in the process of building one myself and found a good deal at the local CAT dealer. The good thing was they will ship it free of charge to your nearest CAT dealer. I bought 7 footers for $75 each about 2 years ago. The current price is shown below. Good luck!

    Vise (vice) on ballast/counterweight?

Well, that would make them “double stolen”, because I came up with that design after reading a bunch of ballast block builds on this fine forum. I did a thread on the build called “3pt Concrete ballast build for logging/ firewood” in the Build it Yourself section. Good luck with your project.

    Vise (vice) on ballast/counterweight?

That pic shows it in the” I need a big vice in the back corner of the barn mode”. For wood cutting, I spin the mount 180 in the top receiver hitch. Or one can go in any of the 3 receivers on the back side of the block.

    Nice gift

That’s a good friend and a high quality vise that are a pleasure to use. I think they look better wearing tractor colors. Here’s mine in New Holland blue.

    TC45DA Jumper Wire

It’s not the seat safety switch. That wiring runs on the top side of the fuel tank. But it looks identical to my 2001 TC45D which came like that when it was new.

Operating temperature for New Holland TN 70

I have the manual for cab version of that tractor(TN70da). It’s the same engine. The green range on the factory gage relates to 140 -230 F. See the pics

    TC45D Quick Attach Conversion Questions

I used the factory NH unit on my TC45D with 16LA loader. It was $600 in 2006. It was one of the best mods I’ve made to that tractor.

Small reliable (low maintenance) irrigation system from pond?

The pump is controlled by an Orbit sprinkler controller using a pump start relay. Then I have it feeding 6 separate watering circuits.

Small reliable (low maintenance) irrigation system from pond?

A 4”pvc line connects the vertical pvc well casing to the pond 24” below the normal level of the pond. The 3” centrifugal pump hangs about 8’ deep in the 10’ casing. It’s been service for 3 years now with no maintenance or freezing issues. An in-line strainer takes care of any debris from the...

Small reliable (low maintenance) irrigation system from pond?

I had a similar situation although I did not have the 30’ elevation change between the pond and garden. I used a 3” 1/3hp 120v submersible pump that I put in a 4” pvc casing that was placed in a 10’ deep hole that was dug next to the garden.

How do you store you logging/tow chain?

I carry mine in 50cal ammo cans mounted on the back of my concrete ballast block.
