Metal Piece Found in Hydraulic Fluid, Advice Needed

Yeah, I almost have it back together. Replaced the main wiring harness and some other minor work. Picking up some LED lights to mount to the tractor as well. Then I'll fire it up and see what happens. I think I'll take mcfarmall's and s219's advice and wait. If she taps out I will have to...

Metal Piece Found in Hydraulic Fluid, Advice Needed

Here is what I found. The filter was a John Deere filter. Unfortunately I think the spring material from the filter is both larger and smaller in diameter. I attached a photo. This was a great idea. Never tore apart a filter before. Educational.

Metal Piece Found in Hydraulic Fluid, Advice Needed

Thank you! I sill have that cartridge filter. I am going to open it up. Good idea! Thank you. The material seems hard. Not very bendable but it is quite short. I made that inspection from behind my desk. I'll look at it closer in the garage. See what I can do there. I would have to say...

Metal Piece Found in Hydraulic Fluid, Advice Needed

There were very small shiny pieces of metal in the bottom of the oil drain pan. Just my luck. That is a good point about the previous repair. I had not thought about that. My inclination is that this is a recent occurrence. This is based on that fact that the last time I changed the...

Metal Piece Found in Hydraulic Fluid, Advice Needed

I have a 1988 John Deere 750. I was changing the hydraulic fluid today. As I was dumping out the old hydraulic fluid into a waste oil can I notice in the drain pain a piece of metal. I have attached some pics for you to view. It looks to me like maybe some type of snap ring. Yet I truly do...

Oil & Fuel Engine Shut Off Issue

Hey GRS. I don’t know about that. Have to look into it. Seems everything so far is all mechanical. Nothing electrical. To stop this model tractor all you have to do is pull the hand throttle fully rearward.

Oil & Fuel Engine Shut Off Issue

That’s what I figured. I just wanted to be sure that if I adjusted that rod by turning those nuts, it would not bother engine rpm at all. I don’t think it will but wanted to be sure. Thanks for your help!

Oil & Fuel Engine Shut Off Issue

So, I have been dragging my feet here. The issue was hit or miss up until recently. Now it is all the time. So, here is what I have done so far. I bought the spring which "Beenthere" suggested which did not fix the issue. I made sure that all the linkages are free to move and they seem to...

Oil & Fuel Engine Shut Off Issue

Thanks, but your advice is pretty vague. I am going to assume you are referring to the rod that connects the governor to the speed control lever. Since the rod is threaded and there are two nuts on either side of the governor lever.

    John Deere 750 Electrical Connector

Hello Folks, I have a broken wire in the starting circuit on my tractor. I was able to get the white plastic ends off of the wire in question. What I don't know is the technical name for the brass connector. There seems to be many styles similar to this one. The wire seems to be only 18...
