Cannot find product often listed as a lubricant.

Thanks. I will call these people and ask if it is the same product. I've used the Compound L about ten times over the decades. It has to be heated on a camp stove or similar in order to spray, and that is different from the description of this product.

Cannot find product often listed as a lubricant.

Thanks, Looks like these two companies are in Belgium and Scotland, respectively. I have a distributor in White Horse, YT looking to find some. Even as it is I sometimes have stuff held up forever (literally, forever) in customs having stuff shipped from Canada, but doing so looks less...

Cannot find product often listed as a lubricant.

I very badly need to purchase a product sometimes sold by Texaco, and sometimes sold by Chevron, as "Compound L." It's a product I have bought over the years in a 5 gallon steel can, and more recently in a 5 gallon plastic can. Sometimes it's listed under "marine lubricants" but I've never...

    Diesel today

Here in the furthest north, furthest west and furthest east state there is a common belief that come January 20 the administrative prohibitions now in place on producing new oil will be lifted. I share that belief.

    Skid Steer interior cab light.

Thank you. I am going to try this. The Amazon listing says it's 1.5 watts, and the bulb I pulled from the Bobcat S 185 clearly says 15 watts (read with a magnifying glass) which is a little confusing. But the red color would be beneficial. Here in the 49th state we use Amazon on almost a...

    Skid Steer interior cab light.

The interior cab light in my 2008 S185 skid steer quit working for the first time since I have owned the machine. Using a flashlight to take the covering off the light and remove the bulb (Here at almost 60 degrees N. everything requires a light right now no matter the time of day unless it's...

How much do you care about pre emissions

Maybe it's not so much tractors as it is what Americans lost when no one was looking. In my area people are very tired of the government dictating everything any law-abiding person can do even as law-breakers seem to operate with impunity and in plain sight. So it's difficult to find a...

    Owatonna 440 mustang

I live in a city of 30,000 that cannot be reached by road. We have a Bobcat dealer and there is a large equipment rental outfit. The rental outfit rents skid steers among many different types of construction equipment. For a period of a few years the rental outfit had Mustang skid steers...

trying to price a trailer before the auction

The discussion here has been very helpful to me. Now the auction company is showing bids and the high bid is already more than I believe the trailer to be worth. The trailer has no ramps, and they would add to the price. I would need the ramps for my skid steer. A private sale would not...

trying to price a trailer before the auction

These are all excellent posts. Thank you! I need to begin today preparing the wife for the amount I will have to bid. There is a buyer's fee, and I will have to ask about whether the local sales tax applies: Usually it doesn't apply to used equipment but a greedier city government cannot be...

trying to price a trailer before the auction

So a local auction house is going to offer a Load Trail two-axle trailer with a 14 foot dump bed. It is set up for a ball hitch. I would prefer a 5th wheel, and a pintle would be my second choice, but a good buy is more important. It's a 2014 model. No one can look at it yet, that viewing...

    It's Logging Season-Northeast

A question that can be important to the hobby logger or the farmer in his woodlot is whether to tree-length skid (or yard, or twitch, whatever) or log-length skid. If you're clear-cutting then falling so that all butts point toward the landing (or yard, or brough, whatever) is fine and dandy...

    Converting old thermostart to electric

At least for me and my Yanmar it takes counting to 20 for the battery to get the decompressed engine up to the maximum RPM. It's been too long since I looked at the operating manual so I cannot recall what it says. I do very much like the idea of getting the oil going before I add fuel to...

    Converting old thermostart to electric

I've had a 1982 165d for about 25 years in a N. Pacific coastal climate that sometimes sees zero degrees F, or a little colder. The thermostart device worked the one time I tried it, but a block heater and a hair dryer seem to work too so that is what I use. I count to 20 using the...

Tractor rear PTO vs skidsteer snowblower

I have long had a Yanmar compact tractor, and I have regularly plowed driveways with it. About 18 months ago I bought a Bobcat skid steer, a 2008 model with 250 hours, that had only been used to plow the shared driveway that I now plow, so it's pretty much like new. Rear visibility in the...
