Need 12Volt Terminals For Front Of Tractor

Thank you for your suggestions, all. The Battery Jumper Terminals that BlueKnife gave that link for are the type of connection I had in mind. The cover is especially important for the positive terminal. I can see mounting them in a convenient spot to hook cable clamps on. Thanks again.

Need 12Volt Terminals For Front Of Tractor

On my Kubota L3830, the battery is behind the headlights. To get to it you have to raise the hood. I'd like to put heavy duty 12 volt terminals on the outside, in front of the grill. It would make it much easier to jump-start the tractor, or to power a 12v transfer pump to fuel up. Maybe some...

    Thermometer For Tractor

Whoops - I just remembered that those Accurite sending units have a really long reach. When I bought a second Accurite thermometer for a room on the other side of the house, I found that the original sender also reached the second display unit. As much as I like the Accurite units, I think I...

    Thermometer For Tractor

bdhsfz6- That's a good idea. I'm going to go that route. We have that same set-up in our house. I like the no wires aspect, and I can experiment with where to put the sender. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks, Jim

    Thermometer For Tractor

Seems like a good trick to find a place for an air-temperature sending unit that's always in the shade, and away from the heat from the engine. Even in the seat area it's affected by the engine's heat. Although, our car and truck have thermometers, and I think the senders are under the hood...

    Thermometer For Tractor

I'm often curious about what the actual air temperature is when I'm on the tractor. I tried putting a regular outdoor thermometer by the dash, but the sun always messed up the reading. I wonder if there is an automotive style thermometer that could be used, and where you would put it's sending...

No - Cost fix for Kubota starter

Just want to pass along a problem with a happy and cost free ending. I have a Kubota L3830HST, bought new in '04. Recently, when I turned the key sometimes, nothing happened. I thought it was the solenoid, or a flat spot in the starter. When I called the dealer to see about a starter, they asked...

    How not to bushhog !!

It might be a pain to do in a large area, but when I have to grind up big stuff with the bush hog I like to back up to it. Seems like running over large trees, even if they are skinny, could damage things on the under side of the tractor.

What type of grease for angle gear on string trimmer/brushcutter?

Does anyone know what is an acceptable grease for the angle gear on the end of the shaft on string trimmers? They tend to say in the manuals to use the manufacturer's brand of "special" grease, but in reality, I have about four different types of grease on hand for greasing my trucks and...

Hedge trimmer for cutting back raspbery bushes?

I maintain horse trails in the woods, some of which get overgrown through the summer with raspberry bushes and other plants. I usually walk through, swinging a pruning saw to cut them back. It's hard on the arms and shoulders, so I was wondering how a battery powered hedge trimmer might work. We...

    Generator Voltage Question

I have two portable generators that I keep on hand in case of power outages, and when I test them occasionally I plug a light in or a power tool to make sure they're producing electricity. Recently I tested them with voltmeter, and one of them is producing approximately 140 volts and 280 volts...

Do You Wash Your Paper Air Filter?

I've been reading some interesting posts on the pros and cons of secondary (inner) air filters in tractors. The consensus is that they're good to have for the health and safety of the engine. This made me think of the maintenance procedures for the primary (outer) air filter element. I've always...

    Box Blade Modification For Winter

I got a box blade last Fall and got to do some grading before the ground froze. When Winter came I started using it as I used to do with my rear blade, to push snow in reverse. I found that the rear facing blade would catch in the ice at times, and really jolt the whole tractor up through the...

Adding Drain Holes For Condensation In Loader Valve

There have been questions from time to time about frozen loader valves, and often the problem is the lack of drain holes to allow condensation to drain out. I learned how to fix it years ago on TBN when it first happened to me in subfreezing weather, but there are always people that are just...
