    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram I bought the tractor, backhoe, and loader as a package. It was crated and came with no instructions or a bar to lock the 3PH. I only had a few pictures to help and no experience with tractors. In fact the pictures weren't always correct. I dead headed...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram In an earlier post, I showed a home made shop press used for bending 3 inch x 1/2 flat bar. Later in the project I had to bend 9x1/2 inch plate to creat a 1 inch offset. These bends were much closer to each other, as compared to the bends in the 3 inch...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram The new subframe moves the backhoe 20 inches closer to the tractor as compared to when it was mounted to the 3 point hitch. If the PTO mounted pump wasn't in the way, I could have mounted it another 10 inches closer.

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram Thanks Dave for your your posts. As I said in my initial post the information you have provided has been invaluable. I did cut the brakets with a plasma cutter (Longevity ForceCut 50i). The rest of the steel (mostly 1/2 inch) I cut with a 4 inch angle...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram Thanks Gunny & LD1. I wanted to share my experience with bending flat bar and plates. I had to bend the 1/2 x 3 inch flat bar that runs along side the loader subframe to create a 2 inch offset. (see first photo) As I don't have an acetylene torch, I...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram A picture from the rear of the tractor showing the mounted bracket. The bracket is bolted to the axle, ROP, front loader subframe, fender bracket, and 9 inch plate. The next set of posts will show the modifications made to the backhoe.

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram Below is the 9 inch plate shown mounted under the tractor. The hydraulic oil plug is still accessible through the hole. The 9 inch plate shown from another angle is bolted to the 5/8 inch main bracket.

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram The following pictures show the parts that make up the parts that attach to the tractor. The yellow arrows in the first picture point to pieces that belong to the loader subframe. The only modification I made to the loader subframe was to weld 1/4 inch...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram The U bolt seen in the previous photo was replaced by 2 grade 8 bolts and an angle iron that will be bolted to the 5/8 inch plate. It will also be bolted to a 3 inch by 1/2 inch bar that runs up to the bell housing.

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

Re: An "axle-surrounding" type subfram The next picture shows a test fit of some of the components I made. The vertical plate is 5/8 inch steel. It is the main anchoring component and will be attached at multiple points to the tractor. It will be attached to the axle housing using the same...

    An "axle-surrounding" type backhoe subframe

I have a Luzhong TC254 (similar to a Jinma 254) with a loader and 3 point hitch mounted backhoe (LW-6). Having never owned a tractor, I had no clue as to the benefits of a subframe vs. a 3 point hitch mounted backhoe . Much of my inspiration for tackling this project came from dfkrug. His...
