Grading Box Blade and Rock Rake (a.k.a. york rake?) not really doing the job. Operator lacking skills?

Years ago I opened up an acre of rocky ground with a new Kubota B3300SU, an LA 504 FEL, a rock rake and a middle buster plow. Plow brought up 6 boulders the size of washer/dryers that I sold to a landscaping company. Rock rake and FEL took care of the smaller rocks. Finally 4 dump truck loads of...

Buying Advice Cab or no cab?

I bought a Kubota B3300SU in 2014. I is open air. I have looked at the flimsy aftermarket cabs available and am NOT impressed. Since most of my jobs involve snow, the FEL works great, but it does get damn cold and at 74 it's not fun. If I had it to do over, I would get a cab.

1.5 acres. Am I nuts for thinking about a tractor?

I also have a small hobby farm (2 acres) that I raise Blueberries on. I purchased my Kubota B3300SU in 2014 and lucked out with this great machine! I have an LA504 FEL, Land Pride reverse tine tiller, 72 inch brush cutter and set of Danish S tine cultivators for weed control around the...

    Eradicating rocks before tilling

When I retired I bought a Kubota tractor to open up 1/2 acre for food crop. Ground is ancient riverbed with lots of rocks. First laid out the boundaries, then rented a middle buster plow. Rocks that came up were mostly the size of a large microwave with a couple the size of clothes dryer. Went...

    death of regular cab pickups

Had problem with my 1998 Ford Ranger extended cab XLT four wheel drive system in November. Local dealer said they couldn't get parts for it as it is considered....OBSOLETE, but offered to sell me a new crew cab. I said NO as I wanted a regular cab or extended cab. Their reply was "good luck" as...

    Sold on Seafoam

I've been using SeaFoam for years, in saws, tractor, Harley and road vehicles. Never had any issues or problems. Buddy had a Harley that hadn't been started in 3 years so we drained the lacquer/gas, heavy dosed some fresh gas with SeaFoam, put in new battery, cranked it for 10 seconds until it...

Please critique the weld quality (photos enclosed)

Jokingly I say your welds look like Crow poop on a fence post! I am retired from building power company line trucks and have welded for over 30 years. Guessing here, but it looks like you used a stick machine. Temp too cold with not enough penetration into the steel. Solution; Brace up the...

    Would You Loan It Out?

I live in Spokane area also and have a Kubota B3300SU that I use for tending my Blueberry field and snow removal with LA 504 front loader. I bought the tractor in 2014, tiller, plow, brush cutter and other attachments over time. I had some neighbors that mistakenly thought my equipment was...

Am I crazy? Chalky oil in crankcase - 1 Hr old - Husqvarna ZTR

Possibly a blown head gasket or it might be a cracked head between cylinder and water jacket, allowing water to infiltrate into the crankcase and mix with the oil.

    You already know this, but….

Friend bought a new Colorado. Info screen kept going blank and rebooting. Took it for repair 3 times, then took it back and they sold him a Silverado. Way too much money for a truck that has so many bells and whistles he will never use them all. I have learned from him. I will keep my 98 Ranger...

    Always Set Parking Brake!

Very lucky for two reasons. First, he wasn't on it when it took off and second, it was a rental:oops: We have some very steep terrain up here! I always clomp down on my parking brake and lock it whenever I dismount, running or off.

How much damage am I likely to have done to my new tractor?

I stalled out my Kubota B3300 when it was new and I was opening up a half acre in 2014. I initially used a middle buster plow, removed boulders the size of 55 gallon drums, then added manure and attempted to till it in. I must have stalled the tractor out at least 9 times when large rocks locked...

    How does your garden grow?

3 blocks @ 4 rows each block of Ambrosia Bi-color Sweet Corn. I grow organic with no chemicals of any kind, just cow poo and straw tilled in and Lady Bugs and Praying Mantis for pest control. Was told to expect one ear per stalk, but I had two and sometime three. Great harvest on first two...

    Front-End Loader  Rock bucket

I need to find a rock bucket to fit Kubota LA504 FEL. Not a QA, but pinned. I've pulled and hauled out 8 dump trailer loads of huge 4ftx4ft boulders from this new ground so now it's get the little rocks out before bringing in mulch and getting the ground ready for 2016 planting. Doesn't need to...

    Glow plug info for newbie

This is my first tractor. It's brand new. It's a Kubota B3300SU. I've read the owner/operators manual 3 times, cover to cover. Then I went on a Kubota Tractor website and got completely different information from an experienced Kubota mechanic. Winter is coming and I anticipate moving lots of...
