Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Today I lament that my USA made craftsman tools are no longer complete thru my own negligence, they just disappeared. Cheap tools seem to “stay home”.

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Mixing battery species using adapters seems to work for me. For three years, I’ve been using dewalt 20v lithium on older (black) Craftsman C3 nicad tools with an adapter and no issues. I switched to dewalt tools and batteries when the 3rd set of C3 batteries died years back. At that time, a...

You Know You Are Old When

Regrets… I didn’t mean to imply that minimum wage jumped from $7 to its current levels. It just wasn’t much in the news I followed after the first few years of my working life. People just didn’t protest (on the news media) that minimum wage wasn’t a livable wage…

You Know You Are Old When

All these posts about (hourly) wages, higher and higher from $7.50… $15…$18…$20. That’s inflation, macro- economics, micro- economics, greed and capitalism, socialism- all in a nutshell. Don’t forget taxes…. And I went to how years of college getting a masters degree (in engineering) learning...

    Pick Up Bed Liners

Two votes for horse mat — one for each of my p/u’s. Doesn’t fit around wheel wells and dirt gets underneath but protection from dents is gets ratings. I pull the mat and hose out bed when I get energetic.

XR4140H error code F31/S29 and warranty "lesson learned".

As I recall, I changed out the throttle assembly completely. It took a couple of bolts and had a harness pigtail.

    Mt 372D Stay chains

And then do a make vs buy cost calculation. I didn’t have a low cost source of turnbuckles and mount rings. For me at 3/8 chain, buy was cheaper.

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

HF had free batteries with coupon and additional purchase. When coupons were discontinued, free batteries and free other things all went away (maybe around the time covid came… not sure of time frame). I stopped going much to HF when this came about… but then I seem to have a good stock of most...

    Electrical cord storage

I acquired and continue to use a couple of these many years ago…. But they weren’t $14+ (or the inflation equivalent). For that kind of today’s cost… I’d learn, practice and use the Daisy chain. Just the “frugal guy” in me posting. But with being retired and with battery-powered everything, I...

    Zero Turn front tires

I fought slow leaks in front for a couple of years. Then I put tubes and still had leakage. Finally went to front solids. Now no more leaks but harder ride. I wouldn’t switch back.

    LS XR4140 Price & Questions

My 2017 XR4140H has 900+ hrs with BH attachment. Pulls a Woods BBX72 bush hog. I’ve done most maintenance myself. Dealer has done several repairs…I learned not to abuse the machine particularly the backhoe beyond its capability. I’d buy again and take it easy on BH.
