I was a jerky making machine today.

gsganzer, I hear you on the wrinkled bag roll problem, I used to buy the Nesco brand as I have a Nesco vac machine. No more, full of wrinkles=faulty seal and lots of waste. If you're ever around a Target store, they carry the "FoodSaver" brand in 8" and 12" rolls. Smooth side 3mil, textured...

    Perfect day to smoke cheese

gsganzer, I see no need for the handled tray as it has small holes not allowing full smoke to penetrate the bottom of the cheese-yes, turning often will negate that but then the smoke will have to undergo another timely build-up. Just use your existing grate and turn them once. I have a...

    Horse fence question

Just found this old thread. Use a garden sprayer filled with diesel fuel and fine ground cayenne pepper. I've previously had horses for years and my fence posts were left alone after the first attempt of chewing, however none of my horses were cribbers.

Recommendations: Looking for a set of 25'/30' decent jumper cables

Primary use will be from my Ford F-250 diesel to my attached flatbed trailer winch for on and off loading a 2000LB 1957 MGA roadster. I don't want copper clad aluminum.

Good day to smoke some cheese and salt.

I just finished up two 4:00am two-hour smoking sessions, 75% apple, 25% cherry in the a-maze-n smoke tube. Cheddar, pepperjack, gouda, muenster, le gruyere and mozzarella. Both mornings when I started the outside air temperature was thirty-eight degrees and I could hear the wind machines going...

Good day to smoke some cheese and salt.

No where near a good cold smoke day here in the California Central Valley, 103 high, 72 low. I see you are using a S.S. A-MAZE-N smoke tube. Great tool in your BBQ arsenal! Expecting low temps mid high 40s at the end of this month.

Once the bottom coals show the first sign of ignition, the chimney is off to the BBQ. Thanks for your post.

    Modified charcoal chimney

Some will say "why bother when you can just put the electric wand directly in the BBQ under a stack of coals?" but in my situation that would require me to retrieve a 25' extension cord, unroll it, roll it back up when done and put it back where it came from. Certainly not a lot of trouble but...
