Besides the hp, did you have any other reasons for not going with a JCB.
I had some interest in them because of the side door, but couldn't find much feedback as far as reliability goes.
I don't know of anyone in my area that has a JCB.
I bought a JD5055e back in 2011. They gave me a choice of SSQA or the JD system. I actually liked the JD system better, but since I already owned SSQA attachments I stuck with SSQA.
Agree!
The only problems I have had with the SSQA system is with poorly made aftermarket SSQA plates that were sloppy and needed to be corrected before use.
The limit of the SSQA design seems to end at the larger skid steers. Once you get into larger lift capacity (6,000 lbs) manufactures go to...
I had the loader arms drop slightly while releasing the bucket. Fortunately my foot didn't get crushed just the tip of my shoe.
Now I do what you suggest and stand in the bucket when operating the latches!
Because of several health issues I stopped using non suspension ZT mowers. All I use now is Ferris. If you have no issues with ridged frames you will have more to choose from.
What I have discovered is that the 60+- width mowers work better on slopes than the 54in models.
I believe this is due...
I have owned 4 different Ferris mowers. One was an old rigid frame, the others had suspensions.
IMO the best riding is my current 61 inch ISX2200.
I had a 54 inch ISX2200 for a short time and found that it didn't ride as well as the 61. Weight, tire size and track width may contribute to this...
Keep in mind that the grass you remove from the property needs to be replaced with fertilizer. If you don't do this you will deplete the soil. After a while all you will grow is broom sage.
Fertilizer is expensive.
I have a 3ac pasture that I've been mowing with a Ferris mower for the last 3 or 4 years. I cut it once a week with no issues. The suspension takes the jarring, so it's more like riding a horse. I used to use a non suspension Ferris to mow the same field. It worked but it was a rougher ride.
I...
We have a similar problem in our area.
My neighbor changed from copper to PEX but used copper fittings. After they rotted out he replaced the copper fittings with plastic. So far so good.
I tested my water and found it to be acidic. After replacing my water heater and several plumbing fixtures...
You're the one that brought up pasture and road maintenance. I assumed you were going to use the track loader to accomplish same.
I'll be sure not to offer advice.
Instead of a small cut how about a full size utility tractor with a rear mounted mower and a 60 inch or better Z with a suspension?
Bigger wheels make a big difference.
Looking at the original post I see that the ZTR he has is a Ferris, w/suspension and suspension seat.
His mower rides much different than one with a rigid frame. You don't get beaten by the bumps.
My "lawn" is reclaimed pasture and I have back issues .
Mowing with my L47 is much harder...
