Besides the hp, did you have any other reasons for not going with a JCB. I had some interest in them because of the side door, but couldn't find much feedback as far as reliability goes. I don't know of anyone in my area that has a JCB.

Universal Quick Attach Bucket Dropped on Both Feet

Agree! The only problems I have had with the SSQA system is with poorly made aftermarket SSQA plates that were sloppy and needed to be corrected before use. The limit of the SSQA design seems to end at the larger skid steers. Once you get into larger lift capacity (6,000 lbs) manufactures go to...

Zero Turn mower for moderate slopes?

Because of several health issues I stopped using non suspension ZT mowers. All I use now is Ferris. If you have no issues with ridged frames you will have more to choose from. What machine, or equipment, can mow an uneven grassy pasture the fastest? Zero Turn?

Keep in mind that the grass you remove from the property needs to be replaced with fertilizer. If you don't do this you will deplete the soil. After a while all you will grow is broom sage. Fertilizer is expensive.

I have a 3ac pasture that I've been mowing with a Ferris mower for the last 3 or 4 years. I cut it once a week with no issues. The suspension takes the jarring, so it's more like riding a horse. Right now my lights are on the ROPS. It was the easiest place to put them. On my previous machine ( a NH TC40D) I installed them on the loader main frame. When you remove the loader the lights stay with the tractor. I actually prefer the main frame mount , and probably will do the same mount on...

Work light connectors for my L5240.

Yes you will need a switch. The plugs become hot when you turn on the key. I used four 27W LED lights, and two switches mounted in a plastic box attached to the ROPS. Best, Bill

Work light connectors for my L5240.

If your setup is the same as my 3240, and it sounds like it is, you are correct about the three green connectors being for the work lights. BTW they all go to the same 10A fuse. I tried to find a plug in connector myself. No luck. They are just female spade connectors inside the green plastic...

How much rear ballast on L3130 with LA723 loader?

New, compact counterweight w/2 in sq reciever about 800 lbs (cost was less than $20 BTW) + Wheel weights 360 lbs (cost $378) + loaded tires 480 lbs. Total 1640 lbs. Works for me, for what I do. Different tractors react differently. Obviously your mileage may vary.:D

How much rear ballast on L3130 with LA723 loader?

I built a counterweight for my L3240 w/724 loader. It weighs right around 800 lbs. It works well. My Ag tires are loaded however, which adds about 480#. I think our tractor/ loaders are very close in size and weight. Without the counterweight, if I have anything in the bucket, even a few hundred...

    FEL bypassing

This is from the Kubota 3240 brochure. Just noticed this; In the brochure it says that the specs. were taken from a L3540 @ 2560psi, and a L3940 @ 2630psi. When I look in my OM, system pressure is the same for these three models and listed as 2567 lbs for L3240, L3940 and L4240. I don't get...

    3-PT Concrete Counterweight

Here is my 800# counterweight. I used a 3PH frame from a junk Bush Hog, and welded re-bar to tie everything together. A friend suggested the lift eye. It was a good idea, because I can easly move it without hooking it up, and it lifts level. One thing I wish I done, was to have cast in a draw...

    FEL bypassing

I have a Kubota 3240 W/ 724 loader. It has about 15 hrs. on it. I needed to lift a Zero Turn mower. The mower weighs around 1100#. I was lifting it with chains attached to the bucket. I couldn't lift the mower at all. The Hyd just bypassed. I removed the bucket and repeated the lift. I was able...

kubota 7040sud adding wieght to rear

When I built this counter weight, I welded re-bar to the hitch frame, which came off a old bush hog. I also welded in a lifting eye, so I could move the weight around without hooking up to the 3PH. For your use you could easily add on to the back of the block. When you build your frame just...

    Scaffolding on my FEL

You are correct. The loader is intended for material and not people. Not OSHA approved. That being said, what I did was build a three point adapter, for my loader. I connect my carryall to it for a work platform. I have also used it with a 3 point boom pole setting trusses. With the OPs design...
