This just happened to a freinds John Deere GT235.
The PTO position pin/stud is simply here to keep PTO from turning. It wears due to PTO vibration & movement.
First problem is they just weld it on the bottom of John Deere frames. Not only is this a bad Deere design, to make matters worse...
Wheel Horse is not a subcompact. Although some Horses had a small backhoe & fel option (see link) they are still just a small garden tractor.
Cost new was 3k+ by mid/late 70's for a WH. Many still going 40-50yrs later so deal or no deal?..lol

Yrs ago I saw its general purpose. (GP)
But inclosed gear boxes should use NLGI #0 it seems? The Nat grease chart recommends 0...
True he certainly didnt help OP but clearly helps others looking at used tractors reading this thread. Maybe they'll buy an older model machine without all the BS newer models have?
It wasnt politely stated but I understand his point though.
Just say'n...
Old thread here I know but my cousins MTD has the Courage that suffers from oil burning issues with less than 200hrs its toast. His pile of China junks been setting behind his garage yrs now because he bought a new unit. Want to guess what he bought?
Seems some folks actually enjoy being kicked...
Wow thats what you came away with here. Those blue things are links you click on to read..lol
Point is most people go out & buy new products after reading glowing articles & seeing top awards when the truth is makers paid for those awards so makers have made trillions making much lower quality...
