Has anyone used gear oil in front axle (instead of the hydraulic oil that the manufacturer recommends) AND had an issue?

I restored a 4400 JD tractor ...tractor #2 off the assembly line with barely any hours on it but had sat outside for many years and I used 80/90 weight gear oil in the front axle. I figured it would protect better and not seep through the original seals.

KUBOTA UTV X1100C DIESEL Broken transmission Questions

Hello from Ohio, I am talking with a fellow that has a Kubota X1100C RTV that has a blown transmission. Apparently you can see daylight through the casing. Do not know the model year. He is a few hundred miles away and the price seems more than fair. I have not seen it but I am a full service...

    How would you fall this?

I would limb it first. It is not gonna go downwards. I would pay real close attention as i am limbing it to see if it raises upward as the limb weight lessens. That should tell you how much pressure the stump is having on it. If the stump is pulling up pressure then notch the top of the log...

Any way to weld the thin metal on tractors and attachments?

If you have welders you ought to have a torch I would either clean all the paint off within a half inch of the area to be welded and gas weld it OR I used to take a thick piece of brass that fits up tight to the weld area and hold it behind the weld area(it absorbs the heat) and sputter the...
