Is a subcompact under 25hp enough power?

Go mid sized . Small Kubota L model type . Forget BX : they're mowers really , and small at that . 15 acres is a fair old area to deal with .

    Brush hog accident(s)

And drivers don't like all the cut rubbish thrown on to the road surface either . Many domestic operators couldn't care less though .

The one thing that you wonder why you didn't buy sooner?

Stihl gas pole saw HT135 with 45 degree angle top . Why the heck I climbed up step and straight ladders with a one-handed saw in the first place , I don't know ............

    Kubota F series

The all-in-one Kubota set were expensive , so I bought identical Carlisle solids on unwanted rims ( bearing size too small for most makes ) and swapped over the rims to the Kubota . That was half price !

    Kubota F series

My F3690AU 72 inch back in April 2017 upon delivery . Replaced a BX2360. Just done 300 hours and decided to replace all the fluids : rear diff , crown drives , hydro and filter ( second filter ) . It now has solid rubber castor wheels on those little rims . Also has a rear metal plate for...

4020 fix it or forget it?

That's not a viable equipment situation . It's a heap of skip fill . Buy something old , decent and functioning .

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

Cut and then Roundup on open-wounds is the only way to terminate saplings . They'll keep coming back otherwise .

What Do You Do With Your Waste Oil?

I use it to start wood fires ( mixed with a little gas ) as they can be difficult to get going . Local council have a collection point , but stores in Australia don't provide a service .

Back with the Orange :-) Kubota F3690AU 72"

Well , after a couple of years with a Hustler Hyperdrive 60" , I couldn't resist a bargain price ( for over here .......... ) on a new F3690 72" and an excellent trade in ( due to huge Hustler rrp increases here in 3 years ...... ) . Some of you will remember I had a BX2360 54" for several years...

    JD website changes ..........

I'm researching JD2720 on the JD website . When did the "old" format with the left-side dropdown menu , spec, owner's manual etc change to this new format that doesn't appear to have owner's manual ? I tried to find the Discontinued Products JD website , but couldn't find that either . Can...

    Hot transmission oil .......

Now that the floods and the cyclones have passed through this part of the World , the temperatures are back to a normal late summer . 98f this afternoon and because of storms this evening , I've cut 2.5 acres mid-afternoon . After blowing the dry grass from the deck etc. , I saw a clump in the...

    MMM for 3032E , advice please ........

This model JD3032E with loader , and NOTHING ELSE is being sold off by JD Australia due to a dead market here. The price is good , trust me on this ( dollar equiv thesedays , by the way .. ). They have several of them . No one wants loaders here tbh , so it's added as a no option ( get rid of it...

BX 4x4 drive system question .......

In 4WD , if ANY wheel spins , the other 3 stop . If I apply the diff locker ( rears only ofcourse ) then the two rears will sync and it moves on. Question ; Why does the other drive shaft stop being driven when the first drive shaft starts to spin a "lost - traction - tire" ?

    BX2360 MMM grease zerks

I greased the Kub a few weeks ago , but didn't realise there was a grease zerk at each end of the mower drive shaft . Now this morning I thought I'd grease it ( read the WSM disc ........... ) , but I can't get the gun end over the nipple . There's not enough clearance . Just ended up squirting...

    The problem of International dry-shipping

My BX2360 , like all Kubota products imported to Australia , arrived "dry". Why , I really don't understand , but that's how it is. This was manufactured in January , arrived at the Dealer in June ( when it was PD'ed ) and I bought it this month . Had 1 hour on the clock , and now has 3 hours...
